| Anyone have any local lakes they'd recommend for crappie/bluegill, say 30 mile radius from Appleton?

Location: Menasha, WI | It's unlikely that anyone is going to post the names of good panfish lakes on a public board. There are too few good spots and, frankly, too many people looking to exploit them. My best suggestion would be to buy the Sportsman Connection mapbook for NE Wisconsin and do some exploring.

| Dud- I know Viking is out on the lake busting his rump several days a week fishing. All he's saying is there's better ways to get some info. Take a drive and talk to people out fishing on the lakes, or better yet, grab a drill, grab a map and find some fish. He was only trying to explain why you aren't going to get much info.

Well, actually you are asking for someone's hotspots. Someone had to work to find out if they are decent lakes, right? Merely mentioning a lake's name does draw a crowd. The panfish lakes in the area are generally small, 50-200, acres and it doesn't take many people to screw up a bite on these small lakes.
I tried to offer some advice by suggesting the Sportsman Connection maps, it's how I learned about the area's lakes and found my own spots.

| Black Otter lake is within 30 miles of Appleton. In fact it's the only lake in Outagamie county. My son catches lots of bluegills there. |

Location: Appleton wi | prairie hill pond is full of 3-7" gills and perch and the occasional 8-9". Althought no table fare there its catch and release but plenty of action! lake poygan and boom bay has always been a good spot for gills and crappie! i hope no one torpeda my house for giving up there hot spot location!

| Holy cow batman!~eyelunker whats your address, I have a scud to ignite! The secrets out! Unfortunately we have another couple weeks before the bulls get smokin again, and DUD, you answered your own question, Winnebago and the chain as well as the river all the way up has more panfish action than you'll NEVER find in a lifetime, SERIOUSLY.
