Location: Winneconne | my advice to a newbie, find the masses, fish with or somewhat near them, drop a jig down with a minnow, STAY VERTICAL and in CONSTANT control of where your jig is(feeling it "tick" bottom") and fill the livewell. watch the other people around you, you can learn alot about the correct technique and "jig speed" by watching the more successful guys. by that i mean, you can have 10 boats floating the same stretch of river, and sometimes only 3 or 4 of them may be catching fish. Jig sizes and colors are very important, like before, keep a close eye on what happening around you. You should be able to get away with only 2 sizes, 1/4 and 3/8 oz, with the most popular colors being chartuese and orange, but dont be afraid to try other colors. Last year around this time i was doing very well on black(normally a fall color), and was the only person catching fish on a particular part of the river fishing along side numerous other boats. hope this helps, good luck and dont forget to fill us in on how you do
