| What is the warranty on Tuffy's? I heard it was only 5 years. Is this true? What about the warranty on other things rigged with the boat? Thanks | |

| The Tuffy warranty is 5 years on the hull, deck, and all FRP components. The warranty is fully transferable for the entire 5 years at no charge. If you are an owner, Tuffy will be happy to talk with you about Fiberdome/Tuffy Boats policy after that 5 years has passed.
Look very carefully at other boat warranties. Some cover only the stringers and transom construction integrity after transfer, and are basically buy down warranties after as little as 3 years. | |

| The other thing to remember with warranties is they are only as good as the companies behind them. Whether they say it's five years or lifetime, doesn't matter if the company doesn't back it up or if there is lots of fine print and stipulations surrounding the warranty. I've been fortunate and haven't yet had any warranty issues on the boats I have owned (1 Bass Tracker, yes I said Bass Tracker, 1 Alumacraft, & 3 Tuffys). I have a friend who owns a boat (not a Tuffy) which has a multi-year warranty. He has had some structural issues that the manufacturer will not cover under the warranty. They said they will not cover it because he is not the original owner and that the boat was run in tournaments. I really don't want to go into more detail on his situation because this is not, nor was it intended to be a bash on that manufacturer. It's their boat, their warranty, they can decide how to deal with issues that arise. It just proves the point that a warranty is only as good as the companythat backs it. I think there is a good quote from the movie "Tommy Boy" about warranties that would be fitting right now, but I just can't remember how it went! | |
