A nice shore fishing spot right now is around the eureka lock and damn. There is a fishing platform and places around the lock and along the shore that are pretty good. Around waukau dam is a fun place to fish for perch. These places are good if you have kids because they can run around and get muddy (=fun) rather than bridge fishing where people are can be pretty uptight.

LeRoy,

I noticed a few spots that guys were fishing the Wolf from the Shore on the West side down river from Freemont. It looks like the road runs right along the side of the river and there is public access to the river. This just happens to be one of my favorite spots to fish. The water is 6-8 feet deep and this area is about 200 yards downstream from a point that sticks out. I've caught Walleyes there in the later evening hours.

The New London area has hundreds of feet of good shoreline fishing areas. Stop at Cashmore's Bait Shop by the boat ramp and someone will point you in the right direction. There are 3 or 4 areas to fish.
