Location: Rhinelander | 17 degrees and winds forecast to 20 MPH forced cancellation of day one of the Lund Berkley Pro Am in Chamberlain, South Dakota.
PWT Executive Director Jim Kalkofen cited safety concerns and equipment problems in the bitter cold and wind as the main factors in the decision to cancel day one. PWT officials met with the Advisory Council after an hour delay had already been implemented, and the decision was made based on consensus during that meeting.

I heard the news at 8:10. Too many frozen boats out there. There were major safety issues with all sorts of equipment.
Good Call PWT. Thanks for putting the fisherman first.
As a side note ............... it's weird coming on here and seeing 3 guys that are checking out WF and I know they are fishing the Chamberlain PWT.
Stay warm and safe guys ............... I bet the cards will come out soon ..........let us know who wins the Texas Hold 'em tournament

| 10 Deg colder than the 1st day of the PWT championship and that was cold, windier too. 20mph winds with 17deg air would bring that wind chill close to 0. Hotel warm, river cold.

| Maybe they should require 20# tanks with sunbloossoms in every boat when they fish these pre-spawn tourneys! LOL |
