| There are some plans in the making, we will keep everyone informed here on this board. |
|
|
|
| that would be fun...if possible, let's keep it a "Tuffy" GTG instead of walleye or muskie specific. put it on some water where you can fish for both (Green Bay anyone???) and everybody wins.
great idea! |

|
|
| I got a little free advertising for tuffy boats last night on the channel 11 news. I just wish the fish was a little bigger. But it will taste good!! |

| How about Petenwell in September? Both eyes and Muskies. I can use it to prefish for the MWS Championship! hehehe
Always an angle, huh, Lambeau? |
|
|
|
| I'm in favor of a GTG with the Tuffy guys.......Let's see if Worrall can get something put together.........Let's come up with the winning grand prize........Middle of the pack prize and the last place grand prize......
Question.......Should we include the spouses.....? |

| Sure, spouses. Why not? Afterall, they put up with all this fishing nonsense all year long. It would be fun to have a picnic type fun outing, and include them. |

|
|
|
| I leave those decisions up to Zach and Steve.......Heck......Maybe we should give away 3 or 4......
I'm sure with everyones combined efforts we could put together one heck a of good time......
Shep.....Lambeau.....Slamr......Horseshack.......thoughts..... |
|

|
Location: Rhinelander | Probably the best thing to do is place the event on good walleye/muskie water, and set it for a weekend. Any thoughts on when this would be best for everyone? |

| And maybe a central location, as we have some owners from MN and Ill that might attend as well. Maybe some beyond those, as well. The Pete has Muskie and Walleyes. Green Bay, and Bago too. We could always waste our time like Norm, and fish Rock Lake!
I think this is a great idea. I would suggest making it a family thing, pick a location with panfish, eyes, and muskies, and have a cookout, some beverages, good conversation, and some freindly competition.
I think the when will be the hardest part, but mid July, to Mid August don't have too many tourneys in the way.

I think Tuffy Gear would be cool for prizes |

| Petenwell is a good suggestion, there are some nice county parks all around it that we could use as HQ. upside is it's a fishery with multi-species and it's centrally located, downside is there's not much around it.
Madison chain might be an option, good facilities on and off the water, and it's relatively central location.
Green Bay about the same, but a little further out of the way.
if we go with Petenwell or Madison, i can do the legwork on finding/reserving facilities.

| I think this is a great idea! I still remember what a great time the "TUFF-Team" had at the inaugural Fleet Farm Open years ago. Steve cooks a mean brat and I've always thought the beer tastes better when it's bought by Bendall.
For selfish reasons, I like Pool 4, but not a good choice though for our muskie brethren. I agree with what lambeau says about Petenwell. Nice facilities, swimming beaches, camping option, and multi-species, but lack of other stuff.
I don't know if you can ever go wrong planning a fishing trip to Green Bay. Would be one more excuse for me to head that way & fish. Also like the idea of including the family. I seem to be gone enough fishing while they're at home, so would be nice to include them.
Whatever gets decided, let me know what I can do to help. |

|
|

|
| Well....Looking at all the suggestions........Sounds like everyone is familiar with there waters......How about this.....
Chippewa Florage........? Hayward.......Could take over a specific resort or bar.......Evening cook out and camp fire......Few barrels of bear......1/2 of cow......Tatters.....Salads.......
Worrall entertainment........? Nah........
Maybe some of our guides and Minnesota friends would chime in......thoughts......

Location: Manitowoc, WI | Seeing how not all of our spouses/significant others fish, and a couple of you responded about having something for the family to do, here are a couple links if the Green Bay area is chosen.
First we have the Tundra Lodge. http://www.tundralodge.com/Template40.aspx?pageid=200&contentid=0.
You don't have to stay to play. $20 per person day passes are available.
Next we have Bay Beach Amusement Park/Wildlife Sanctuary.
http://www.ci.green-bay.wi.us/geninfo/baybeach_web/baybeachhome.htm...
http://www.baybeachwildlife.com/
Good time for younger children and not expensive if that matters.
Next we have, and I can't believe a Bear fan is saying this, the Packer Hall of Fame.
http://www.lambeaufield.com/hall_of_fame/visit_the_hall_of_fame/
If there is a game at Fox Stadium, there is the Wisconsin Timber Rattlers baseball. Great time at the stadium although this is about 45 min South of Green Bay. http://web.minorleaguebaseball.com/index.jsp?sid=t572
These are just a list of options if anybody is interested. Or if the families that do not want to fish, they can have a big picnic somewhere and have a bunch of fun activities planned for them.
Let's get our heads together and get more area attractions out so we can have the wives/significant others have somewhat of a choice. I lived in the Twin Cities for 3 years and I know there are a lot of things to do there also.
Again this is just an options list in case Green Bay is selected. The earlier we select a date and site the better it will be. This way those of us who have to get vacation from work can get it approved as soon as possible.

| Hayward would be nice, lotsa stuff to do in the area.
It is kind of mid point.
Lot of lodging in the area.
Bet if you caught a couple of those big muskies and fry them up you could feed quite a crowd, tastes like chicken I heard |

Location: Fremont, Wisconsin | I like the idea of UP NORTH versus green bay and big water for most of the muskie guys. The fishing will be a small part. The cook outs and such should lend its self to a great weekend. Make sure we have enough accomadations within the walking distance to that fire. I like the early fall, sept. time frame, before hunting starts and championships are settled.

|
|
|
| I'm in as long as it's at the right time. Mid Sept sounds great! |

Location: Manitowoc, WI | Green Bay, Hayward and the LaCrosse area all have potential. Lets get these areas other attractions listed from some of you locals especially the Hayward and LaCrosse areas. Lets also list the downsides to each. Then we can get going on a decision. As was said previously, Green Bay in the Fall has great Musky potential. Walleye can be caught also. However, Green Bay would be weather (wind) affected with a chance for adverse conditions. It would also be nice to start this GTG on a Friday afternoon or early evening. This way those that have to travel can actually get a whole day and a half in before having to return home on Sunday. I really hope I can make it to this one. |
|
|
|
| How about posts in dates that would work for everyone? I have no problem making the trek to WI. this fall. I will attend no matter the lake or system, just has to fit into the the rest of this years happenings. |
|
|
|
| Chippewa Flowage sounds like a potential location. .........?
Let's hear everyones thoughts for a great 2-day outing........Competition; Social; Facilites, and Prizes.......
The more pictures that everyone sends, Tuffy could create a power point presentation......Maybe Worrall could even MC.........? We could even make it a roasting.......
This could be the time for the release of the new 2008 models.......
Where is Stacker when you need his input.....? Merc-Kid? Lambeau? Horseshak? etc?
Thoughts...... |

| I would love something over on the Chip. September is not so good for me, but it will be nearly impossible to make it work for everyone.
If we went to the chip we could probably talk the dwarf errrr I mean Dorazio into giving us some inside info.
Tuff Gear for prices would be sweet.

As I said in my last post, Friday afternoon til Sunday whenever you want to leave sounds real good. I just hope it fits into my schedule. Anytime in the fall sounds good to me. No outage at work this Fall. Next year we have long hours in the Spring and Fall so I hope I can make this one. Zach mentioned Pepin would be good also. He's the closest so he'll have to do all the leg work. He! He! |

Location: Fremont, Wisconsin | Ya know, I have been dwelling on this and I think august would be a much better time. If ya wait till sept. it gets colder. If ya wait the kids go back to school and football starts. If ya wait till sept. the sitting around a campfire is weather dependant. More chances for rain and the like. It would also be nice to take a day or two off work and make a long weekend out of it in enjoyable conditions. Just thoughts. |

Location: Stevens Point, WI | Well I would like to think I for sure could be there. I think that would be great, but the ol' college budget may not like it but I think I can make it happen. Just would have to pick up a few more hours in the September if that is the time.
I would be totally up for the Chip, but I think Petenwell would be great too! Or even the Minocqua/Manitowish Chain. By that time things will be settled down a bit seeing it's past Labor Day. But it really doesn't matter to me.
Tuffy gear would be great prizes, especially seeing I don't have any yet. hehe

Location: Manitowoc, WI | C'mon Zach chime in. You mentioned Lake Pepin area at the tourney last week. Let's here some pros and/or cons. I know it would be nice to be able to have all the boats in the water cruisin at the same time. However, since Stacker has more money than I do and his boat is virtually paid off maybe I'll just tag along in his boat. What do ya think Denny? Got room for a poor Polish family in your boat? hehehe! |

| First week of August is the MWS on Bago, the rest is open next to SWC Battle on the bay is August 12th. Not a "have to" but, it is my birthday and I was going to fish it with my brother. Out of his 2060 of course. But, a weekend like that would top the whole thing off. Having that many Tuffys together would be an awesome sight. Is the Miss that great to fish? I have never been there myself. If Zach does all the work, then it has t be! Maybe then I can show him a little more Green Bay. |

| The weekend of September 22nd in the Hayward area works for me. There's a muskie tourney here in MN on Cass/Leech that weekend but I'm not fishing that one so I can pack up and shoot to the Chip.
Tuffy gear would be nice for prizes. Make it an annual outing with some friendly competition and have a traveling "Tuffy Trophy".

| Bottom line is that no matter what weekend you choose you will not be able to accomadate everyone. I think someone should pick a weekend in August and go with it. It will be more of a fun event and get together any way as families will be involved. Once you pick the weekend then we can work on the other things ie door prizes or what ever everyone wants to do.
Petenwell has been brought up as a central location has great camping things to do for the kids. How would August 18th sound? We still should have good weather and the kids will still be out of school. Big thing will be camp grounds and how many sites to reserve. Does anyone have suggestions there? |

Location: Stevens Point, WI | I agree, pick a date and go with it. It will be pretty much impossible to accomodate everyone, especially the first year. Have it once, then see how it goes and then firm up a date for the next year well in advance. That way people will be able to schedule it well in advance for next year.
I personally like Petenwell also. It's a good central location, with Stevens Point not to far, and or Wausau not overally far either. Lot of things to do in central Wisconsin. But I personally am game for anywhere in Wisconsin. But the way the gas prices are looking for this summer,I think a location like Petenwell, a central location might be good so that it can accomodate everyone seeing majority of guys are in Wisconsin I think.
As for prizes, prizes are the least of my worries. I would rather just go and have fun and just to see all the Tuffy's together would be pretty neat. That to me would be worth coming. |

| I feel we should leave it all up to Steve, Steve, and Zach. Yes, not every weekend will work for everyone. I do agree with finding a joint place up north that has multi-speceis for the whole group. Pick a weekend and "Let's get it on" Bringing the significant others is a definate to me. Without them, or at least in my case, this all is not possible. A long weekend at a lodge where we can all stay and have a good time fishing and socializing would be a bonus. Let's get a load of Tuffys on a body of water and open invitations to anyone interested to join us for a ride or a day of fishing. One ride and we can have many more for next years outing. So Zach and Steve's, let us know. Plan it, lodge it, let us know where to call for our rooms and let's make this an annual event to be remembered for years to come. |
