I have a 2090 Warrior with the power charge plug. I can charge all 4 batteries by connecting a charger to one of the front bats. Just wondering if anyone can tell me if I connect a 3 bank charger to this system is there anything special I have to do?

Hi 40Gordy.

I was a Warrior dealer for a long time. Did you buy the boat new? If not, I would suggest going to the closest dealer, or calling the factory. Please don't listen to anybody who says, it SHOULD work this way or that way. The system in a Warrior is a good system but you should know EXACTLY how it works. Call them up.

The "power charge" you're referring to isn't a place to connect a charger. It's basically a "jump" panel for using your trolling motor batteries to start your main motor if that battery is dead, or using the main motor while running to charge your trolling motor batteries. It can also be used as a port to connect a transom-mounted electric TM. I have a Warrior also, and I'm assuming you're referring to the panel near the stern of the boat. Your boat should have come with a "jump" cord (short length with two Marinco heads). It's a pretty slick set-up ... I've run my trolling batts. pretty low, hooked up the power charge jump cabel, motored to a different spot (45 mins.), and had re-charged the TM batts to over 50%. As far as an on-board charger goes, I've got mine mounted in the very front storage area in the middle. When you get around to mounting an on-board charger, make sure you don't cut the wires coming directly out of the unit. You'll need to extend your leads (I would think) to reach your batteries. Only extend the wires by cutting them @ their ends where the terminal rings are. I know this is the case with dual-pro chargers ... not sure with other brands.

I had my on-board charger wired to that jump panel on my Warrior boat. I know for a fact that this works and does not cause any problems. The wires hooked up to the jump panel are the same as on the on-board charger.

Also, the reason people are burning up their on-board chargers is because they are mounting them in places where they get too hot. The worst thing for electronics is heat and if you mount it up underneath of something it probably will be too hot.
