"warming days and fishing outlooks for LBN, April 2"

This past week again has given us some nice day-time warming with temps. getting into the mid to upper 50's.
Still seeing some spawning activity in the many adjacent rivers entering the Bay waters.
"Perch" fishing still being the favorite around here right now, best baits being wigglers, small minnows and 2-Hook Rigs worked vertical working the best. Slip-floats, tiny jigs tipped with small minnows and wigglers too will work. Water depths and hearing of fishing at the upper Bay off the Days River, Nelson's Bay along with the Gladstone narrows area and Kipling/Butlers Island. Lot's of fish relating to the newly merging weedbeds.

"Walleye" fishing activity still going on off the Marinette area on the Menominee River system. Shoreline anglers taking fish while fishing the Hattie Street Dam area both casting floating minnow baits and casting jigs tipped with fathead minnows.
Vertical fishing the river channel going out into the Bay there also taking fish. Some good "Perch" fishing also happening on the Bay there as well.

"Trout" fishing for Browns and Splake been slow and not hearing of any real good bites.

As well not hearing and actually taking a ride the other day not seeing any "Smelt" activity. That's a sport many of us use too really have fun with and a tasty treat as well.

We here are looking for a good "opening" season again, keep in touch.
Marty
