| With all the activity in the last week and no fishing reports. Is that how it's going to be this year. Why is it no one is interested in posting fishing reports. Is this site just for reporting on Tournaments. Sure miss the guys that give an honest report. I don't get the chance to get out more than a couple times a month.
Thanks

Location: Berlin | Once the weather stabilizes a bit, the reefs are loaded with nice walleye. Probably the best reef bite I have ever seen. Trolling shad raps on the upper lakes has been producing a ton of fish also. |

Location: Waukesha Wisconsin | Old Timer,
I promised a report after this weekend but would feel foolish giving since I got smoked on Sunday. My worst performance EVER during a tournament. I always veered left when I should of gone right.
I'm sure that others will tell you that lots of fishing are being caught in the river of Oshkosh, along with all the upper lakes. Sounds like crankbaits and crawler harnesses are all working. Many fish are being caught on slip bobbers and jigs in shallow water.
If I were going to fish the next few days I would spend time trolling in Clarks Bay, Horse Shoe and around the cane beds.
I'm sure others will jump in where I leave off..............

Location: Neenah, WI | Try slipbobbering or jigging the rocks along the shorelines, or anchor on reefs that top out at 3 - 8 feet. Crawlers and leeches are both working. Keep moving until you find them. I was out Saturday and never had a bite till the 5th move. |

| I trolled Poygan on Saturday and I had my best day so far... #5 shads in Walleye color 45 feet back of the boards at 1.8-1.9. Caught a bunch of very nice Walleyes, a few nice Northerns and about a dozen large Whitebass. All my fish came in 6-7 feet of water on the South West end of Poygan.
Caught 2 Walleyes on Perch #5's, 45 feet back. Of the other 10 colors of Frenzies and Shad type baits I caught a few sheephead and whitebass.
Has anyone else used the smaller Berkley Frenzies??? I know they have triple grip hooks, but I lost 4-5 fish on them on Saturday, it seems the treble hooks are undersized when I compare them to Rapala Shads... also, they seem to run deeper.
I'll be out on the water a few times this week (work is getting in the way of my fishing) let you know how I do.

Location: Manitowoc, WI | Dennis, don't feel alone. I also got smoked. After technical difficulties on Saturday, we never got to pre-fish except for a couple of hours. Come Sunday, we basically were runnin and gunnin trying to find fish. Unfortunately, the ones we found were all under 15 inches. Better luck next time. |

| Only two walleye on Stoney Beach on Saturday. Both came on 1/16 oz jig under a slip bobber. Jigging over the side and casting a jig out with a slow retrieve both failed me. Trolled Butte des Morts on Sunday from 11 to 1 and had a limit. #5 Shad Raps 25' behind the board. 5' to 7' feet of water. Was entertained by two boats tangling boards and another inquisitive fisherman so intent on yelling questions that he ran over the other guy's boards. Probably not a very effective tactic for garnering useful information! |

Location: Fremont, Wisconsin | This is funny. A guy comes on, in guest mode, asking why there are no Fishing reports, "is this just a tournament board" he states. Everyone that responded was a registered member as well as a tournament fisherman, I think they fish tournaments anyhow. Maybe old timer oughta' use his name as I know many of the guys who responded have there real names on there profiles. I know, I am just whining cause I don't have enough time to get out and fish lately. PS Dennis, I know you have done worse in a tourny, you have blanked like the rest of us.

| I'm taking the rest of the week off! I'm beat, fished hard and got fish but not as many as I would have liked to. They are there and throughout the system, The upper lakes really won't get hoppin' for a couple of weeks when the rest of the fish get out of the river. Whitebass are starting to go and Northers are there too in Poygan! Like others have said there is a great reef bite going also. Go fish and you will catch something but it's not "hot" yet. Some do better than others and the cane will start to pop by next weekend. So if you have time to kill go fish, theres no better way to enjoy the day! If your looking for qty. you might have to wait till the weather stabilizes for consistant success. There are plenty of 10-13" fish so give em a chance to grow up! Try the flicker shad we had success with that this week. Jig and leach is the best bait for reef fishing and drag a crawler in the river as the current is slow now! But then again what do I know, I'm only a fisherman.
Good Luck

| Hey Loueye,
Do you run the 5 foot area in that bay and how far back are you running your #5's... I tried that last week with #5 shad floaters 65 feet back but I could only catch 12-14"ers and a lot of them... maybe my timing was just a bit early.
Thanks...

| Well I guess I just have not had the time or something like that to put a report up.I really have not been out that much but have been keeping up with the up to date info. The reefs are producing fish and the upper lakes are getting better as it was hit and miss earlier. The shorelines are a good bet too.As Neenah point has been getting hit pretty good by the shore fisherman towards dark.Heard the east side is giving up fish to the dock owners too.My nephew was out on a few ofshore reefs and did a little better than I thought he would. He used jigs and drifted the tops |

Location: Monona, WI | OK here's my report. We fished Winneconne and Poygan on Sunday trolling mostly #5 Shad Raps. We tried just about every color and only caught 3 keepers, none bigger than 17". Never could establish a preference for a particular color pattern or spped. We caught fish trolling from 1.4-2.0 mph in 3-7 feet of water. The 5-6 foot breakline off Norwegian Bay was 'best'. If there was a 'best' color it was perch or purple, 15-22' feet back.
All-in-all, I was just happy to come home alive after nearly getting smoked from the rear port corner by a red bass boat going at WOT on Winneconne. We had pulled our lines to head back upwind (south). After scanning the area, I picked the widest area between the trolling boats and put the throttle down. At about the same time I noticed two boats coming up on plane on the east side. We ran almost 1/2 way to our start point when my buddy slaps me on my arm and yells something. From the tone of his voice I could tell it was urgent and as I turned my head (and my eyes off my intended path) to look at him, I caught a glimpse of a red bass boat about 20 feet away starting to try and turn left to avoid running up our rear port corner. All I could do was react and turn my wheel to the right. Our hulls almost collided. PHEW! Didn't have time to get scared or mad. I didn't even stop since we were fishing the tournament, but he did and probably had to wipe out his shorts. I don't know why this happened, but having the right of way is no consolation if you're dead. The sun was at his back (this was about 10:00 AM), so glare was not an issue. Maybe he was playing with his GPS/Sonar or fantasizing about catching the world record bass?
I do know that I will be looking behind me more often to make sure idiots driving faster boats don't kill me or my family. On a summer weekend on the Madison Chain my head is on a swivel when I'm out there. I think I let my guard down abit this past weekend, Never again.
Stay safe out there guys. Don't do anything you will spend the rest of your life regretting.
Tim

Location: Neenah, WI | I live on Ricker Bay on Cty. A south of Neenah. The neighbor kids have been catching a couple of Walleyes in the evening on bobbers and leeches or crawlers. Not fast and furious but enough to keep them interested. The Long Point area was producing some nice males before the PWT tourney. Same goes for the mouth in Oshkosh but I haven't fished there in a week. Old Timer, all I can tell ya is to get to know some of the people on this board. We tend to be a little tight lipped before a tourney but we're always willing to point a guy in the right direction after the fact. Good Luck to ya. |

Location: Oshkosh, Wisconsin | Well, there you have it. Some guys are trolling shoreline breaks on poygan, some are trolling horseshoe hole on Poygan, some are working the sw corner of Poygan, some are working the cane beds on the upper lakes, some are trolling Clarks Bay, some are jigging the river in Oshkosh, some work jigging the reefs on Winnebago, some are working the docks on the east shore of Winnebago. Oh, and Denny's crabby.
My report? There are thousands upon thousands of hungry walleye in Winnebago right now. You can catch them with a hook, you can catch them on some gook, you can find them with a fly, you can find them by following the other guys. But you can't catch them from your 'puter. Doesn't matter if its green, purple, or pewter.
There is no instant pudding in walleye fishing. |

| Fished Poygan again on Saturday hot bite 3.5 ft to 5.5 of water just out in front of the old duck in. Was out from 10:30 to 4pm must of caught 20 walleyes kept 10 all between 15 to 19 inches same program we ran for the MWS last weekend #5 shad raps 12 to 13 ft behing the board. Caught over 10 northerns as well my baits look like they went to war and back larges this weekend was 30" not to many goats just have to keep moving to find the active pods of fish and find the color of the day as well.
Good luck to all looks like another great year. |

Location: Menasha, WI | Adjust fishing tactics as necessary. Also, if you'll be driving CTY A between Oshkosh and Neenah, be prepared to get your car washed when you're done. |
