For me, I love my partners full windshied in early spring and fall but prefer my dual console in summer. It took me a very long time to go with the dual from a single console. I liked the openness and room.
What are your feelings? |

| In fact, I think your first dual was to accomodate me, Dennis!
I'm liking my dual console for now. But the day will come, when I get the full windshield. Not a matter of if, but when.

| Had a single on my last boat. Smaller boat, so I needed the added space. New boat, bigger, dual console. The people I fish with have appreciated the extra console. I'm sure I'll get the full windshield, someday. Not quite ready for that yet, or the big wrap-around sunglasses. How's those new sunglasses working out for you lambeau? |

| I have a dual, but the passenger is removeable.. I keep considering removing it, but is sure nice on Bay de Noc in Late November running 50 mph into a driving snowstorm for my passenger.

Location: Neenah Wi | Well my full windscreen sure is nice when the bugs are as thick as they are.I just like the fact that on those cool days and nights the wind stays off me and my passengers.I don't care that my rig does not look COOL it sure is nice to have.Keeps the spray out of my face too.Oh and I don't have to duck down to get out of the driving rain. Now that does not look COOL.Ouch that rain kind of stings don't it.

Location: Appleton, WI | I got a side console, but now I wish I would have gotten a full windshield. I did not get a full windshield initially, because I was worried that a musky bait would find it on the back cast (Worried about it for the SC as well). No problems yet, so next boat will be full windshield.

calling me out on a walleye fishing site?
i've only ever run a tiller boat since my first one in '92.
this year i made the jump to console and went all the way to full walk-thru.
i was worried about it taking up too much space, but it absolutely does not do so, and my boat will easily fish 3 guys chucking muskie lures. minnow dunking it's even less of an issue. it doesn't impede tending the trolling lines either.
i don't need the wind in my hair to know i'm going fast, and i like being able to leave my hat on and not eat rain and bugs! it's a lot warmer on cold mornings, too.
so yes, i love my new sunglasses.
and anyone who says this doesn't look cool is just plain wrong!

| Looking good lambeau, that is a sweet ride! A full shield would have been nice on Poygan Saturday afternoon, with the driving rain and wind! |

IMHO, if your going to fish the great lakes much, a full windshield is an added liability. A boat with dual console with bubbles you can actually hide behind is more than enough to stay out of the wind and bugs. And if your getting wet in a DC rig, your still going to get wet in a rig with a full windshield. |

Location: Elgin, Illinois | Brad,
With a full windshield and a "tough" but lightweight tonneau cover you can minimize the risk that a speared wave will swamp the boat and you and your passenger... I have a nylon ripstop tonneau that installs quickly and seals the open bow and eck area at the base of the winshield... fantastic safety with no real weight to haul it around... |

| For comfort and protection from the elements on big water (Erie) I prefer the full windshield. For maximum fishability I like a single console (or a dual). I recently broke the center and passenger glass on my full windshield (don't ask) and replaced only the passenger side. I have fished several times without the center section (glass hasn't been made yet) and I like it right now. I'll have the center back by the time it gets cold, though!

| Dennis, I have had all and even this year my Tyee full windshield needed a face lift last year and got all new carpeting, in the process I left out the passenger console and I did hear a complaint or two from my coanglers so I put it back in during trolling season. I installed the window wrong and in the heat a few weeks back the glass shattered so out it came again, This time my coanglers kind of liked it, gave them a nice place to sit while trolling the big pond and only occassionally got wet which was nice in July! Obviously a Tyee looks kind a funny without the full windshield so It will go back on to sell.
Hull design is more important when selecting a console full windshield or tiller, I wouldn't own a wetlinner without the full windshield, although the IPS2 hull is awesome with a tiller on it.
I have been in the market for a new ride for about 5 years and have been in them all, Tracker, Ranger, Crestliner, Yarcraft, Skeeter, Tuffy, Lowe, Basscat, Alumacraft, Mirrocraft, Starcraft, and many others. Some you have to have the full windshield, and I see no use for a console at all. It is all about hull design and Lund has done it right. I have gotten wet in them ALL.
I am pretty sure my next ride will be a tiller with a 175 or bigger, I had the pleasure to ride in a 2010 loaded up with 3 guys on Lake Michigan with power steering and if you ever get the chance to ride in one I highly recommend it. You won't ever fish around a console or windshield again! Even if the hull is not perfect there is nothing like the room a tiller offers for fishability!
Good Luck
Tyee

| Liar. You didn't get wet in my 1890! hehehe
Oh, maybe the time you left the livewell unsecured, and it sucked all the water out when it opened up at speed!

| My current boat is a full windshield and I will never go back. Cold, rain, sleet and hail will not deter us in the full windshield. It is particulairily good in the great lakes in November when the waves and wind are high and we can stay dry behind the full windshield. I admit I like the sporty looks of the bubbles, but the practicality of the full windshield has won me over.
Take care,

| I beg to differ a bit, I fish a TON on Big water and for the past 4 years of running a full wind shield on Green Bay in some of the roughest stuff she can dish out I have ZERO broken windshields. Now broken other parts of the boat are a whole different story.
I love the protection in all conditions. So do my clients and passengers.
If anyone thinks I have not put my rig thru its paces I have a few partners that will verify my "ambition" on rough water.
