| OK I am looking for a rig to take out my young family out perch fishing and also run a few work clients out for walleye and grass carps. I need to seat three other people during the water runs. Mostly I am focusing on Lake Erie and Lake St. Clair and the Detroit River for walleye of course. I like trolling but I know that I need to focus on jigging the river to get better.
My biggest things are safety, storage for gear and rods, comfort in 3ft+ waves. Oh and storage for gear.
I am figuring a 17+ boat, 75+ hp, 65+lbs bow but I am open to a tiller. I would like a full windshield and enclosure but I also like the idea of an open floor space of a tiller.

Location: Rhinelander | Any 17.5' boat will be a bit crowded with 4 people. I'd strongly recommend looking at an 18.5 to 19' boat. It will be difficult to find one in the price range you have posted, but there could be a rig or two out there... | |

Location: Elgin, Illinois | You might want to consider an older boat... Aluminum still if good condition... lower price and get something in the size you can use. You will almost always grow dissatisfied with any "first" boat. SO, spending less on a "first" rig might be a good idea. You will find out a lot about what you want in the next boat without losing a lot of money over one or two seasons...
Or you could be a bit more flexible in your specs... Here's one at your price that could work for you..

| The tournament pro 185 is a nice boat, I believe that boat is almost 19' long, might be a little under powered with the 125, you could fish 4 guys out of that boat, the interior layout is almost the same as the Lund pro V, I had a tourney pro 175, I really liked that boat and it was very fishable. | |
