I recently rigged a 621 with a Merc 250 ProXS and a 23" Tempest Prop. The hole shot is OK but I'm only gettting about 5400 RPM and 56 MPH. This is with two people and the boat loaded. Would I do better with a 21" pitch prop? Any suggestions.

You will pick up about 4 to 500 RPM with the 21, have a better hole shot, and should lose a mile an hour or two. Depends where you are in the performance curve with the combination you have.

Get your motor raised.
Get a jack plate.
