| I have a Lowrance LCX-111 mounted on a Ram Universal Mount. It seems to me that the mount can't hold the weight of the unit, and it takes a lot of shock in rough water. Anyone have any experience with the mounts that Johhny Ray make, or have any suggestions on how to make the Ram Mount sturdier?
Thanks,
Jake

| What boat are you running it on. The Tom Backer mount works well, and it's only $30. I'll try to post a pic of mine tonight. |

| I have a 2000 Tracker Targa 17SC. I have seen those Tom Backer mounts and they seem pretty convenient, but I don't know that there is enough room between my windshield and steering wheel/gauges to mount that unit. Everyone is saying they prefer their big electronics mounted directly to something on their boat, rather than using a Ram Mount etc. Any suggestions? Has anyone had any experience with one of those Horizontal or Vertical Ram Mounts? Would they hold an LCX-111? Is the Ram Heavy Duty Mount worth the $90?
Thanks,
Jake |

| I'm using the big RAM for my 111 & it works great. I do have to really crank down on it or it will loosen up a little in the rough stuff. I think it was worth the $90. |

| I also use the the big RAM for my x111, it holds real well, I've got it set at a 90 degree angle to the ball with a piece of foam between the mount and the console, the foam keeps it from loosening up and takes the stress off the unit in the rough stuff. Definitely worth the money considering what the x111 cost me. |

Location: Iowa | I had the ram mount for my Humminbird 937c and didn't like it. Now using the Jony Ray mount and love it. I have enough room for it on my console |
