The Top Ten made it out dry and in reasonable winds this morning as the front rolled through at sunrise. Winds are forecast to hit 17 MPH out of the Northwest, which will make for a bumpy ride back for many of the Pros headed 30 to 45 miles South.

WalleyeFIRST interviewed the Pros this morning (video today) and most are pulling spinners and crawlers. Boat control is critical, so winds will effect the bite if it blows out there. Todd Riley told us he has burned almost 300 gallons of gasoline this event, so rough conditions also hit the pocketbook pretty hard!

The wind blew NW HARD a good portion of the day, but it wasn't enough to keep Steve Vandemark from his fish.

The secondary front is passing through now, and the winds are now forecast to hit 20 to 30 out of the NW. Let's hope that's AFTER the final 10 return!

I just got off the water from TRYING to fish salmon south of the Escanaba harbor (our local fishing club is running a salmon derby this weekend.) Big swell coming from the south with a nasty cross chop coming from the WNW winds - and thats when you're relatively close to shore! Hope everybody makes it in OK.

Steve asked that I make an entry for him as he is sitting in the parking lot waiting for the weigh in.

Steve said the wind is blowing solid at 25 MPH with stronger gusts out of the Northwest. He created several videos this morning, however, You Tube is having technical difficulties and the process of uploading the videos continues to be delayed.

Thanks for watching this event on www.WalleyeFIRST.com!
