| The bite for me has been excellent for me the last 3 weeks. I've had 50+ fish days with a couple 10# fish in the batch. Still running the deeper water with the same #5 Northland Baitfish Firetiger with Purple and Chartruese beads and #5 Bright Purple Metalic with Chartruese fishscale tape on back with orange/Green/Chartruese beads.
Most days the best setup has been 25 back on a 5/8 oz or 25 back on a 1 oz weight.
I made up the weights using the Cabelas inline jigging spoons that look like a perch. They travel through the water well and track straight and true with no line twist.
On the water by 6am and off by 1:00. I've had to run passes 1/8 mile apart till I find the fish, but once you find them, it's been a blast. Last trip out, I took a client from Milwaukee and let him reel in every fish, he was looking for a pair of 10#ers for a mount and I told him that if I reel it in, it really is not his fish!! Well we did not catch anything over 28 inches that day, but it sure was fun to watch him scramble when we had doubles and triples on. We had 4 times when all 6 boards had fish on them and I would not reel anything in. I drove and netted the fish.
If anyone need greater details, e-mail me and I'll get you set.. I'm going every day next week.

| Just a quick update for anyone headed to the bay this weekend. The fish are still there in 19-25 feet of water. The wind has caused the fish to move around more in the last week. Last 2 days, the bite was a bit farther north of Ganoes in 25 feet of water. Same Firetiger blades, Dk Purple and Chartruese beads early and then the Bright Purple seems to catch more after 9am. Have not stayed longer than 2 pm... so I can't tell you what the afternoons and evening have been.
Still getting them 25 back on 5/8 & 1 Oz inline weights @ 1.2 miles per hour. Had to run across the waves the last 2 days due to higher winds so we could only run 4 poles of 1 side, but it worked well...
Lots of very health 20-22 inch fish that are fat and fighters. An occasional 25+ sure makes it worth the trip.
And don't let the Catfish break your heart... been there and done that about 5 times a day for the last 3 weeks. Those pesky buggers will run your board straight back and then drag all the way to the boat without giving up... and all the time your praying for the big one. When you don't see the 'ole white on the tail, you know you've been had by a kitty cat.
Not to many sheephead in the last 3 weeks and the white perch don't seem to be hitting the harnesses as much as they did last year.
E-mail me if you need any more details... I have to work all next week and then I'm back on the water!

Location: Neenah, WI | Took the wife out for a few hours this a.m. and only boated two eyes(double-header). I took P.S. 's info and fished NE of Gaenos in 25', purple TH blades took both fish. Talked to a few guys @ the launch, same story- slow. |

Location: Orland Park, IL | Yep, had the same luck, justabout. Many thanks to ps. Launched from suamico on Sat morning for a few hours of fishing, since bagos been up and down. Fished to noon or so, just after the wind shift. Got 5 bites all day, but one 19 inch fish. All others were short, very short bites. The only reason this one hit is I free spooled after the flip tipped. Trolling harnesses isnt my strong suite, but had a good time workin my program.
If you get lost out there, follow the Pipe chicken wing trail back to the launch. Got the 5 piece cold wing special the night before. Hit the spot. |

| We fished Horseshoe all day Saturday and managed a 28 & 29" eyes by 8:30, then spent the rest of the day all over the place. We did have 3 bite offs -one was a 40"approx. musky, and a few eyes?? come unpinned plus ONLY 1 sheep, a smallie, so we had some action. My seven year old now has 2 -28"ers under his belt. I'm thinking 29" before I mount one for him!! Same set up as PS and depth from 15-30 w/ the 2 big ones in approx. 25' Good Luck! Dennis |

| I was thinking about going to the lower bay this weekend. I have never fished it any info I could get to get a started would be much appreciated. I was thinking of putting in at the mouth off of 44. Would their be a better place to start? What do you think this weather is going to do to the fish? Thanks |

| Do you mean the mouth off of I-43? Very nice launch, but I would put in at Suamico and head to the deeper water off of Geano's reef, sounds like a few fish are still being caught out there. I hope so because that's where I 'm going this weekend! Just got the boat back from Tuffy and it's ready to rock n roll! |

| fished lower bay on wed. came out of Saumico very foggy headed up to Pen shoal trolled for about 2 hours 2 sheep and a 15 lb cat to show for it. Headed back to 30 ft by the light house really just north of there picked up 2 ,28 walleye in about 2 hours then had to head home. A few people trolling didn"t really mark a lot of fish, purple and orange were the 2 colors that worked for us.I have a question if a person were to give Larsons a try were is the best place to launch from Sturgeon Bay or Little Sturgeon tks for your help |

Location: Green Bay, WI | The Door county launch in Little Strugeon would be the better choice for a few reasons.
1) It's probably a closer drive on the road, less gas money
2) There's really zero no wake zone
3) I think it's closer on the water too.
Pot. State Park use to be an option too, but the water was really low a few years ago - I'd really be nervous about using it now. |

| The new launch at the Stone Quarry is really nice now and not too far from Larsens. It would also be a good choice if you wanted to run north to Monument Shoal if Larsens doesn't produce. |

| Is a south wind ok for fishing Larsons or I was thinking of trying Hendersons Iam not really sure, do not get up around these parts much. tk you for your help |

Location: Manitowoc WI | south wind is great for larsons, most of the time.. in the midst of all the north east winds last week i found most my luck on by the silos and by rileys.. larsons was dead for me... so was hendersons and that whole shoreline till i hit the silos...
with this south wind im sure things are changing... |

| My fishing buddies blanked this week.... no Walleyes and only a handfull of Sheaphead. Storms have scattered the Walleyes around Ganoes and they could not get a hit in 2 days on the water. Maybe next week will be better!

Location: Neenah, WI | I also blanked today. Started south of Geanos, trolled north of Geanos 20' - 28' of water. 2 perch and a sheep! Talked w/ three other boats @ Suamico launch only 1 eye was caught! Water temp. dropped 7 degrees since last weekend. Where have the eyes gone? |

| Kidney and Deadhorse have produced lately. Perhaps they sense fall coming and are roaming closer to the River? |

| I have never been out of Pensaukee, I see a boat landing on my map. Is that SS that you take into the boat landing, and is it a good landing? Looks like a lot of shallow water to the north, is that the area that you picked them up on the edge of that? I have looked at that area before on the map and considered going up there for a try. If I hear good on the boat landing I think I'll go up there tomorrow and scout it out for myself.
Thanks ahead for info. |
