A big thank you to the person who stole our Merc Pro Kicker motor cowling off our boat sometime yesterday. We had our boat out for sale, and someone took the cowling off the 9.9 motor. Now we need to replace that before we can sell the boat. It’s so nice of you to think we are better off replacing your missing/damaged cover than you are. Also stolen was the serial number plate. This has all been reported to the police.
To everyone else: should you have a friend who mysteriously has a new cover, or one they picked up at a “great price”, I would wonder about that “friend”.
Or it’s someone with a stolen motor, now going to put our serial number plate on it, and try to sell it. If someone is offering you a heck of a deal on a 9.9, check it well as it may be stolen. As stated above, we have reported the stolen serial number plate so the motor will show up as stolen.

Thanks for letting me vent.

That is a bad deal. I had a kicker stolen a few years back, and it never showed up anywhere.

what a pile of crap how much does a cover cost couple hundy? not sure where you had your boat parked for sale but there are a lot of cameras out there maybe one close by. remember theives most often return to the crime or come back for more... anything else they can take a 5 finger discount on ? put up your trail cam , they might need some rod holders or marine band or something .. good luck and i hope this guy gets his ... or at the least gets bad fishing juju..

Boat was parked in Spring Grove, IL. No cameras near, on private property. This happened in daylight, on a fairly busy road. Boat is no longer there. Motor cover replacement cost around $375. It's just that it's such a hassle now. Thanks for your concern.

Maybe you'll find it on Ebay! That's where I found mine!
