I sometimes hear about guys catching walleyes mid summer on the river. I'm in the New London area, and was wondering if it's worth the effort (especially with low water levels this year). I've heard to focus on deep water holes. Is it an early morning bite or a late afternoon/evening thing? Leeches or crawlers? Just would like to give this more effort because I live close. Thanks for any pointers.
