They now say that between 100 and 200 million gallons of raw crude per day are being pumped into the Gulf.......bassed on 100 million gallons: if there are 42 gallons in a barrel thats 2,381,000 barrels or 125,000 gallons of gas per day. (19 gallons of gas per barrel) multiple that by 365 days per year and you get 5 million gallons per year out of ONE well. If the number is more like 200 million well you get about 10 million gallons of gas annually. So if we consume 322 million gallons of gas per year here in the US. That means a measley 32 of these rigs solves our gas issue....There are HUNDREDS. So based on current barrel prices there are billions of dollars just floating out there........If you got a barrel to get rid of I'll take it...Ibe makin a trip to the gulf for the oil rush, gotta be worth more than the shrimp!

According to the Seattle Times, Americans used 8.93 million barrels of gasoline a day in 2003. A barrel holds 42 gallons, so that's roughly 375 million gallons per day, not year.
