The weather today looks bad at first glance with small craft advisories pending for the afternoon, but the wind is going over from SW to S, so it's 1 to 3' waves up to a few miles out. The field left a little after 7:30 due to the cloud cover and later safe light.

The top ten is separated only by 10 pounds down to fifth, and a stumble by any team in the top ten countered by a big bag (hard to believe the biggest bag for a three day event out of Huron would be 30#) will flip the leader board. It's still pretty much a shoot out unless the bite stays tough today.

The pattern is trolling multiple different cranks behind Off Shore boards, and waiting for a couple fish to tell what needs to be on all the rods as far as color and crank bait selection. There hasn't been a 'hot bait' according to reports from the stage.

Weigh in starts at 3 PM Eastern, and will take less than an hour to complete. WalleyeFIRST will be reporting from the road, so expect the first news on the finish directly after the weigh in concludes.

WalleyeFIRST coverage is brought to you by Lund Boats and Mercury Outboards.

Canadians Greg Whitson and Mark Campeau took home the Championship trophies this afternoon at the 2015 Cabela's Masters Walleye Circuit Championship out of Huron, Ohio. Lake Erie was mean again today as winds cranked up into the 20's this afternoon, but the team trolled up enough to take the win from a hard charging Jaimee Tourangeau and Ross Neubauer, who ended the event tied with Randall Gaines and Mike Rhoades weighing 59.14.

The win was worth $15,000.00 plus contingencies.

The leader board has Gaines and Rhoades in third.

Fourth were Ahrens and Stuefen with 52.14, and Davis and Geis rounded out the top five with 51.13.

MWC Leader Board

Reef Runners at 1.5 to 1.9 when any speed control was possible in the rough seas were mentioned more than any other technique. Weather was a huge factor in this one, holding down the weights to almost 50% of what was expected to win.

The schedule for 2016 was announced onstage. We will have that video and the winning moment up later tonight or tomorrow morning.

WalleyeFIRST would like to thank Lund Boats and Mercury Outboards for bringing coverage to our visitors this year!
