I have not been back to the Fox Valley for nearly 10yrs but will be coming back for a family reunion in early September. I am hoping to get a couple days to try some walleye fishing on the Fox River or Winnebago. Does anyone have any helpful tips on catching walleyes in September on Winnebago or the Fox River? Can you catch walleyes in September? I would not be rigged for trolling - does jigging still work? Any tips would be appreciated.

Every year seems a bit different. Slip bobbers may work if the water isn't too clear on the reefs. Jigging over deep rocks may be a good idea also. Keep checking here and as the time gets closer you shouldhave an idea on what's going on. Good Luck.

Looked ugly on Saturday. Did manage to sneak into Jim and Linda's and have a few before the power went out. During the 2nd half of the Pack Game.

its funny sunday late afternoon all i could catch were 13 or 14 inch eyes.... then yesterday , wed morning ,,, 1 had all nice fish,, only 4 caught in about 2 hours without moving much but i had an 18 and a 20 and two 21inchers.... my misson was to find perch so when it calmed down a bit,, worked hard for another 4 hours or so and only ended up with 8 or nine nice perch,,, little slow and the lake got torn up on the east shore chocolate milk amost too dirty,,, but clearing by the time i left to about a foot and a half... a bit of a cold front i guess ,,, not a bad day and great weather on the water...
