No question this past weekend put the "freeze" to the Bay and hard.
The hard, cold is crystalized the snows we've gotten and actually travel is good still using snow-machines, ATV's, foot and truck travel especially on the north end of the Bay from Kipling.
Hearing of some fisherman this past weekend doing fair but believeing this cold snap could have slowed things a bunch.
Wind chills were to be dealt with and always remember to cover up fingers, face, ears as only a few minutes in this cold can be bad.
We seen a good number of fish throughout the day on Friday with Steven George, Paris, Kentucky and his group of 4. Spending lots of time on waters like Lake Cumberland and Cave Run they needed little guidance to jigging and working the waters.
Not many bites, catching a small pike and seeing numerous fish on the flashers they definitely want to come back and will be trying this water in the spring.
No special baits or rigs (Raps, Spoons and tip-ups), locational patterns and edges, deep mud areas still seem to be holding fish.
Don't forget we've still got our Shanty Rentals and doing our guided trips fisherman!!
Good luck, have fun and be safe!
