Hi all, back for more advise have a 86 Tuffy sportsman I bought a Peronia 5 wondering should I mount outside or in bottom of boat looks to have been one there before . do you lose much of the sensitivity when using this way? I never done inside before, but have had seen broken and boken my own off before just needing couple opinions thanks

Yes, if you mount the transducer inside the boat, it will not get as good a reading as it would on the back of the transom. I'd suggest staying with the back of transom. As for where to mount it on that boat, not really 100% sure, I've only seen a Sportsman maybe once or twice.
