Member Posts: 1382 | The weather threw the pros a bit of a curve this morning as a small wind squall came through as the boats left harbor, kicking up rough seas. Overall conditions seem to have settled out, and the skies are clearing some with the forecast calling for mild temps, partly cloudy skies, reasonable winds, and a 30% chance for a thundershower. All the Pros were talking about 'gutsing' it out on choices of which fish to keep and which to throw because of the slot limit here, likening the process to a hand of poker. Almost everyone expects to put a limit in the well, and everything depends on not only which bites they get, but in what order. Decisions. Morning interviews and images are on the way. Limits should be fairly easy again today. Since Grand River Casino has a poker tournament every thursday, the refrence to poker fits nice, as many will fill the available open seats. (max 44) Look at how the weights are stacked tight, its the lucky guy that catches the biggest fish who will or at least cash-out nice. | |||

Member Posts: 1040 Location: Stevens Point, WI | Day 2 of the PWT Berkley/Lowrance Pro-am on the Missouri River again proved why it's one of the best Walleye factories in the country with almost every pro coming to the scale today with a five fish limit. The weather squall passed by mid morning, the bite continued to be hot and heavy for all the pros. Many pros reporting up to 75 fish days but most in that 50-60 fish range. However, with the no cull regulations in South Dakota, the decisions when to keep and what to keep can be crucial. This was no exception for Tracker/Mercury pro Chase Parsons who had his two overs in the boat when he brought a 28 inch plus fish aboard that tipped his digital scale over 9lbs. But unfortunately he had to let that fish go. Day 1 leader rookie pro Aaron Deal stays atop the leader board by near ounces with a two day total of 33.50lbs. Nipping at his heels is veteran Lund/Mercury pro and past PWT champion Mark Martin with 33.22lbs. for his two day weight. Third place is held by another rookie pro Brent Beitelspacher with 31.95lbs. Veteran pro Dave Anderson of Apple Valley, MN holds down fourth place with his kicker fish coming at the right time to weigh 31.13lbs. Joe Johnson is sitting in fifth place with 30.51lbs. to round out the top five. Day 2 afternoon images: http://walleye.outdoorsfirst.com/leaderboard/llb.asp?t=762&view=ima...
