Temps are in the upper 60's on Bago, low 60's on the Upper Lakes. No sign of the VHS devastation some were predicting. This disease was supposed to manifest around 55 degrees. Did I miss the sky falling?

No infection this year, I guess. That is a good thing.

We were popping 58 to 59 on Sunday on the East side. May have picked up some since then. Neighbor had a few walleyes that were spotty, but alas a biologist I am not. Still tasted just fine.

The past 10 days 4 outing on bago and 19 walleyes on bago. Zero infected and all healthy chunky bago walleyes. Also last year over 250 walleyes on bago and zero infected.

It was predicted my many DNR personnel that there was not going to be any type of large kill off this year from VHS. It's the way viruses work, there may not be another pandemic for many years. I really hope the panic button is not the first thing people reach for in the future when it comes to Mother Nature taking its coarse.
