| I'm sure it is a zoo out there today and now that the tourney has started I suppose those of you looking for the Troll bite to start........Have at it.
It's going strong, there are plenty of 15-23" fish out in the mud. I have been runnning larger cranks like yo-zuri and some Lucky Strikes and the Matzuos have put fish in the boat but the t-sticks and reef runners (bare naked kicked but this week 55-75 back) worked just as well at 1.8-2.2mph. Go with a larger bait down in the 10-12 range when the sun is high and the water is calm. 8-10 down early and late is working also.
You can keep the kids busy with the whities by letting them hang a #5 shadrap over the edge of the boat (glass white) and putting it just behind the prop wash and pumping the rod every few seconds as they like it moving in the 3mph range. this is best when it is relatively calm. It's a lot easier to do that than fight with them on the boards. It's not hard to get 50-100 whities out there now and a limit of eyes comes pretty easy as well.
Good Luck

| Nice report Tyee!
Thanks for all the info, I am hoping to get out early next week out in the mud. Any certain areas to try first? Kind of a goofy year going with everything being behind a bit this year, but hopefully with some warmer temps and stable weather it will stay good for awhile. |
