I have a somber question. So with the PWT cashing it in after this year, is this PWT Can-Am championship a one time shot at King of the Hill? I think it's kinda cool too have a Ryder Cup of sorts involving fishing. But frustrating to have it a one time deal, especially if Canada wins it eh.

It appears that the costs of fuel, faltering economy that is severly affecting the boating industry and its sponsors, has changed the game. At least for a couple of years. We all seem to have short memories and this too shall pass.
I am guessing that the Can-Am deal could be a one of.
I suspect that tourneys in general will be more team oriented and more local in distance. The wide ranging areas of the PWT puts a huge strain on participants and was likely part of the problem. I am very curious to see how AIM structures is program to attract participants and sponsors. They could dictate the future of tournament fishing.
The FLW doing some major restructuring and reduction of its tournament footprint as well. This certainly is one of the more volitile years in the tournament game.
You have to remember that the PWT started from scratch and had a great run.
We will just have to see who is next.
Take care,
Jim O
