You can send me a private message and send the gps co-ordinates to where you were catching them. I will then let you know where I think them fish went and why they are now back there.

Thanks

Guest,
Your experience pretty much matches my continuing saga of never being able to figure out where the fish go on Bago. Stacker may be a good resource to solve your problem. Drop him a line:)
Take care,

They probably didn't go anywhere. Let me guess, on Sat you were catching them in the top 10' of the water column, Sunday nothing, and Monday 8-12' down? The feeding cycles are starting to change as the nights get colder. But it could be many things as well, do you have side imaging on your depth finder? Helps a lot in finding suspended fish on a lake that is only 20' deep!
Jim said a mouthfull.......this lake can be a nitemare to figure out!

Good Luckl

East wind saturday evening "shuffled the deck". I'm still impressed with the weights for the MWS and how good the bite was.

Let's put it this way! Saturday we fished Poygan and not even a Sheephead. We went to Bago and started in Oshkosh, went to the Kalbus Reef area, from there to Pipe area, from there to Stockbridge area and back to Oshkosh. Only thing we pulled out of the water was weeds and 1 13 inch eye. Come gametime Sunday, we stayed at the mouth most of the day and had 3 fish in the livewell by 8 a.m. and the other 2 in the livewell by 10:30 a.m. Total walleye caught for us was 7 with 18 inches being the biggest. First time we got our limit on Bago during a tournament in August. Only ended up with 9.02 lbs but was good enough for 28th place and the points we were after. I'm still puckering so the horseshoe doesn't fall out. Figuring out Bago is like figuring out the wife! IMPOSSIBLE!

thats bsggo... i fished the east shore sunday. should have known the bite would be tuff, 25 degree drop in temp wind changes and 4 days of steady feeding before... we got our 5 but no size and only caught 6 over 15 with maybe 12 walleyes caught for the day, the second place boat was on the east shore and ripped fish till there arms fell off.... it was strange , North wind with about a 20 mile an hour under water current comming out of the south . all i can say is some spots lite up in this situation some shut down... that was the east shore.. someday ill figure it out! i think sundays winning wait came from poygan. if id have to guess i would say it was cain or windblown rocky shorline point... but what do i know... on the way home there were a ton of lake flys above the road as i drove down the south west shoreline... another reason for a hot mud bite a few days earlyer and a shut down by the fish... it wasnt a bad bit for august as most know it can be a lot tuffer,,, time to start perch fishing or head for the upper bay for some pigs getting to that time of year... me? im gonna spend more time on baggo looking for honey holes for next year... though we had a good year im tired of getting peanuts thrown at me on stage!!!!! secret spots arent secret anymore and with the advent of the gps guys just swing by and mark your spot to come back and explore later.. these spots arent holding the big fish as they usta and are getting more pressure... time to keep moving.. move move move , i didnt do it enough last weekend and missed out on a great bite shallow. oh well.

another thing i noticed was that the fish we did catch though they looked healthy were a bit thinner than we have seen the last couple of years and early this year? not sure why? im thinking all the smart ones (the fat ones) know how to feed more efficiantly and they were all laying belly to the bottom somewhere full of lunch from the 3 days before.. thank god for the dumb ones! but then to fish baggo is like banging your head against a tree... only feels good when you stop! but there we go agian back to the same old tree.. the tree in the mud the tree in the river or the tree on the rocks with a jig pole!!!!! the more trees you bang your head against , the better chance you have of something falling out of it! darn it hurts !

Denny,
I spoke to the "guest" personally. He called me in response to the post. It appears that he was hitting the same waypoints as we... I mean, I had fished in the past.
I do get a sick pleasure out of hearing everyones frustration this season being that I have been sidelined.
It is sad what one will do for entertainment:)
Take care,
Jim O

Jim, hahahahahaa thats funny. A sick sort of humor however, but funny none the less. They have a brain the size of 1/2 of a pea, they are just over thinking the situation. The guy with 19# did not over think. Sorry guest, just trying to get a giggle out of ordway.

That 19# would be good any time on this system. A very impressive weight.
My hat is off to them for than catch. Imagine having a good 15# in the boat at this time of the year and having someone blow you away with 19? Thats fishing.
Thru the years my kids picked up on the pea sized brain deal (I think I was dumb enough to tell them that) They delighted in reminding me of that on the many days I got skunked. When will us parent learn?
Take care,
Jim O

Ah yes......they have brains the size of pea's.....don't ever forget it. hahahaha

I concurr, Jim, 19#'s is one heck of a weight for 'Bago anytime of the year....heck that's even a good weight for Green Bay some days.

Kudos to the winners. and the rest of the field, they all caught fish. In August when everyone "knows" 'Bago is the dead sea and "the bite sucks".

good luck
