The wind has been up the last few days, Erie is muddy, and the wind is still blowing. It's raining now, and is supposed to tomorrow all day, but nothing really bad. Temps are going to be very cool only reaching the mid 40's, and winds are forecast to be North East at 15 to 18 all day. It's going to be a tough one out there!

From NOAA:
A SMALL CRAFT ADVISORY REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 4 PM EDT
WEDNESDAY.

WAVES OF 5 TO 7 FEET AND NORTHEAST WINDS OF 15 TO 25 KNOTS WILL
CONTINUE TONIGHT. WINDS AND WAVES WILL SLOWLY DECREASE THROUGH
MIDDAY WEDNESDAY. WINDS AND WAVES ARE EXPECTED TO DROP BELOW SMALL
CRAFT ADVISORY CRITERIA BY LATE IN THE DAY WEDNESDAY.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

INEXPERIENCED MARINERS... ESPECIALLY THOSE OPERATING SMALLER
VESSELS...SHOULD STAY IN PORT UNTIL CONDITIONS IMPROVE.

Toyota/Ranger/Yamaha Pro Pat Neu said tonight, " I think we'll go out. The wind is supposed to diminish throughout the afternoon, so I think we will go. I spent alot of time in similar conditions this week looking for clear water...it's a tough commodity out there."

Stay with us at WalleyeFIRST for the 2009 season kickoff at the FLW Walleye Tour Event out of Port Clinton, Ohio. Expect morning and afternoon videos, images galleries, and more!

Based on the small craft advisory they should NOT go out.

BTW.....can someone give me the Coast Guard definition of Small Craft???? If I remember correctly, they consider a small craft one less that 65 ft long. Correct me if I'm wrong, but do you think 20' walleye boats are comparable to 65' working boats???

Waves 5' to 7', so I guess it will be up to the folks at the FLW tomorrow morning to see if things have improved over tonight's forecast.

Depends on how bad they want to make a show. Cleveland, 2007 Day 2 we were sent out in solid 5 - 8 footers.. Some (20 plus) boats were smart enough to head to the landing... Some of us fools went out and thank God returned safely.

Should be interesting to say the least...... Looks like the lucky guy wins.....

If I'm ever in a situation to fish conditions like we had for the PWT at Dunkirk in 2003 it will be too soon for me. When we went out that day they were 3-5's and building. By the time we got in they were 10-15's........and I had borrowed Pat Cavins' 619 for that one. Never again I hope!!!!!
