River is muddy-r than heck. Lake is a mess as with the first day of port clinton cancellation. Weather was pretty crappy the last few days. 40's and raining. At least the fish were bitin. Klino got a big one, 10.5+, very nice.

Turned out to be a nice trip. Jig and plastic the whole way. The river is a jiggers dream. Handliners too. Klino got his big one. The best I could muster was one close to 7lbs. and few extras along the way. What a great time... Cant wait til next year.

This is a video of a sturgeon I caught on the Detroit River last week while jigging for walleyes. It was caught on a 6 ft. medium action Fenwick IM6 Iron Hawk with a Pflueger Trion GX7 spooled with 8 lb. Power Pro line.Tied to the end was a 1/2 oz. round lead head tipped with a walleye assassin shad style body. Not hardly the set up for a fish of this size.It took 50 minutes to get the fish to the top of the water and chased it downstream for about 1/2 mile.About half way through the battle,a barge was coming down the channel and we were right in the middle of the channel.I had to drag it out to the side of the channel with the trolling motor. Wanted to get it in the boat and take a picture, but its not legal to take them out of the water while out of season.Even then, you have to have a sturgeon tag.Dont know what the fish weighed but guessing I would say 40-50 lbs.Still was alot of fun.Click high quality and full screen for best playback.

Wow, smokin fish. We had a firsthand view of the battle and it was nice. Yep, we found a good chicken place. Voted #1 in detroit area a couple of years back. Very tastee. Wings at the best western were pretty good too. I may diversify to wings.
