Member Posts: 514 Location: Darboy USA | Does hole sitting happen much in the walleye game like it does in bass fishing? I was reading an article where Bobby Lane won the Kentucky Lake BASS event and on one or two days actually was done fishing, but stayed there with his boat in order to keep others off the spot. He even napped one day! Does that happen much at the top level, or even smaller level events in your opinion? I wouldn't be surprised to hear about it, but haven't yet. What do you guys think?

I do know that I have seen Walleye tourney anglers who have friends who aren't in the tournament go sit on a wing dam or on a certain spot (cane bed) to hold it for them untill they get there. That's almost the same thing in my opinion. As far as hole sitting goes, it would depend on the tournament. The FLW won't let you weigh in untill 3, so if you caught your fish in one little area and were reasonably close to the weigh in, I'd consider it. Mostly to keep the livewell circulating the same temp water, and to avoid extra running. So in short, I would sit in that spot if it was the best for the fish.

My friends can't even get up in time to actually go fishing, much less get up early to go pretend to fish.

Member Posts: 744 | Just like cell phones and culling, it is largely unenforcable with the possible exception of a lie detector test afterwards.
