Looking to pick up a Ranger boat in the Wisconsin / Illinois area. Have heard some good and not so good things about some of the dealers. Anyone have any recommendations (both good and bad experiences). Lot of money to put down and want to make sure I go with someone I can count on for service after the sales.

MW Marine in Hales Corners(Near Milwaukee)

Pamp's in Green Bay.

You'll hear good and bad things about any dealer. I've dealt with MW service in the past, and they always did a good job for me.

Had a freind with a Verado problem on his Ranger a month ago. Called Pamp's on a Friday at noon, and they said it was bad gas, and to bring it in, and they'd get to it by the next weekend. Called Mr Marine in Fondy, and Dan diagnosed it over the phone, checked to see if they had the part, and said he would get to it that afternoon. I took the boat down, and within an hour, they called my friend and said to come pick up the boat, it was done and ready. My friend was very pleased, and Mr Marine has a new customer.

Not knocking Pamp's, as Wendy runs a great dealership, and I have lots of friends that go there, and have had great service. Because of location, I'd probably buy from Pamp's if I was getting a Ranger.

Another friend Dave buys his Ranger sans motors, and has Mr Marine put Merc's on. Not sure how he does this.

Pamps or M&W depending on your location. I would go with the one which is closest for service. I have bought from both and they are good organizations.
Take care,
