Member Posts: 514 Location: Darboy USA | Watching the video makes me think I don't want to ever draw Riley in a Pro-Am event. Hopefully I'm wrong, but it sure looks like all his co-angler is there for is to net and take pics. Riley even takes his own boards off, can't figure that one out, it's not that hard to do and pretty tough to screw up. If that is how it was all week, I feel sorry for his co's, all they paid for was a boat ride.

"Riley even takes his own boards off, can't figure that one out, it's not that hard to do and pretty tough to screw up." While I disagree with you, it doesn't really matter what either of us think. It's Riley's boat and his decision to make on who does what. Heck, for all we know, maybe the guy asked NOT to take the boards off because of how much $$$ was on the line.

I will bet that the guy thats with him today, would rather not be the one who loses a fish that would force riley to take second place because of it. The guy thats with him today, will learn more by watching than reeling a fish. It would be simply EXCITING TO BE IN RILEYS BOAT TODAY, fishing or watching. Remember that these guys (co's) are not on a guided trip where it is the pro's job to get the client fish. The pros are there to catch the biggest fish anyway possible. If I was in Rileys shoes, I would have it no other way than the way he is doing it right now. Its the home stretch and I sure would not want a quadruple bogey at this point. Member Posts: 2393 Location: Waukesha Wisconsin | Everyone does it differently. I personally have them reel in each fish and I give them verbal directions on how I like the fish fought. I believe most fish are lost trying to net. Bottom line his boat and his rules. Here I thought you were going to comment about the cig in his mouth ![]()

Member Posts: 514 Location: Darboy USA | I agree with you guys on some points, especially, his boat, his entry fee, his rules. I have no qualms about him doing what he wants, especially with so much on the line. I'm just saying, if that was me, I'd be disappointed to be "NetCamera Guy" on the final day of a tournament. As long as he was smoking downwind of me I'd be fine Sunshine! ![]()
