He had to be back home buy 3:00pm. We went 8 for 13 on walleyes while trolling. But that don't tell the whole story. Brother Dave who just got back into fiishing this year, didn't want to use any of those weird looking stickbaits. Dave got a little spoiled this summer with our continous luck when fishing together, when pulling Rattlt Tot's with meat. So when we hit the spot I wanted to fish in 16 FOW, he made it clear he wasn't going to change any trolling programs now. So he ran his side of the boat and I ran mine. Long story short. Capt. Dan using Yo-Zuris 7 for 9. Dave using Rattle tot's 1 for 4. I gave the poor schmuck his share of the fish when we were done. But want to warn anybody thinking of going to Frank's this weekend and buying some Yo-Zuri's yourself. Brother Dave said he's buying every one on the shelf tomorrow. ![]() ![]() Attachments ---------------- ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]()

Always has been my go to crankbait, Have a few boxes of the deep divers also. I moved from up North a few years ago to Arkansas, here on Bull Shoals and other Lakes down here Yo-Zuri are still my go to crankbait when I need to put fish in the boat.

Probably like many people, the price sticker shock of the Zuris are initially a little hard to swallow. Buying a lure that's roughly $12.00 each is a tough decisions when the same money buys 3 others brands. The bigger/heavier salt water hooks IMV seems to be an intracle part of the lures design and dynamics, that gives the Zuri it's wider (snake like) swimming action. This IMV seems to be what the colder water walleye like in my area of the world. I started using them last spring just when the ice went off the Bay, in water temps in the high 30's (Pictures below). They produced great then and again this past Friday with the water temp at 44 degrees. And the brother ran Rattle Tots, Bombers, and Husky Jerks, both shallow and deep diving on his side of the boat with much less success. The red line is Power Pro 8/30 and is a long story in itself. I started experimenting 4 years ago on my charters with red line. First Cajun Red. It proved itself more productive when fished side by side using the same lures, techniques and programs, while using many other mono line brands next to it. I then was offered a chance to Pro Staff for Power Pro and tried that line first in the Red color. The first year I ran all Power Pro (2007) the fishing on the bay was off the charts. Most fish that year were in the 17 to 19 inch range. So I would not even use the net to land our fish. All were simply keel hauled over the back into the boat. Some fish surprised me and were near or over 5 pounds. Still, never had a line failure and never re-tied any rigs that whole summer. I'm guessing I have roughly 30 or more rods and reels for every type of fishing. Every single one is spooled with Red Power Pro 8/30. One thing about me Pro Staffing for anybody or any product. I do not/will not accept any product for free, expect the first initial item sent to me. Then I pay at least the wholesale price for any additional product after that. This removes my obligation to only talk about or indorse that one product brand or type. ![]() Edited by walleye express 11/9/2009 8:25 AM Attachments ---------------- ![]() ![]()

Definitely my favorite of favorites especially when the water is cold. They make a top notch casting bait too...also a really well put together bait. I have a favorite one that has caught around 40 fish this fall, inluding a pike and a musky, starting to show it's battle scars but most other brands would be near paint free. I also agree that the saltwater hooks are important. They're excelent hookers too, even if they don't look it. The only thing I don't like about them is they can be a bit brittle...never had a problem with a fish breaking one but have broken them with the needlenose. Somehow after replacing with another hook the action is always a bit different.

great info express... I've used power pro for years I like the 20# myself... for casting cranks... I do use 50# for flippin and froggin bass... I have a boat load of yo zurti rattling vibes... best rattling bait around... I will give the red line a look... this bay you wish with the red Power pro, what kinda water color you talkin'... looks a bit colored... here in NY, Zebras are clearing up all the waters... think the red stuff would work with 10ft+ visability?

The bay is Saginaw Bay. And both sets of pictures showing the water are decieving to a degree. Both our spring and fall water colors seem to stay stained by the continuous winds that whip up the bottom in our large, but semi shallow bay. But come summer and calm seas, our water clarity has also changed dramatically because of the zebra mussle. Seeing bottom in 12 FOW is not un-common. And those are most often the conditions I started and continue to use the Red line in. Edited by walleye express 11/10/2009 8:36 AM
