Well, it is open and has been for about a week now. Docks are in at Fox Point. The water temp. ranged from 39.2 to 41.2 and the water was super clear. I could see my yellow anchor in 11 FOW. The water is low, about as low as it is in July with a lot of rocks sticking out near the dam. No problems launching or navigating though. No ice chunks floating down either. But there is a fair amount of ice lining the shores in some spots. There is water spilling over the dam, but not much & no gates are open. We ended up with 8 fish from 16"-24". Most fish came in either 8 FOW or 14 FOW. All fish were caught on jigs and minnows, color was not a factor. Gulp did not produce at all. We saw very few nets today, so as slow as it was, we seemed to to OK. There were a few boats who did pop 5 or so fish in a pretty short period. It seemed like waves/schools of fish were moving through. There were a lot of boats on the water, what a shocker! But everyone played nice. A little rain will send some current down and the fish up.

Went out yesterday. Best bite was vertical jigging in 25-30fow really slowly working the jig. Lots of short bites too. Color didn't seem to matter. Biggest one I saw caught looked to be about 5lbs, but mostly just small males. Great day to take off work though!

Went out today from 8-2:30. Water temp started at 44 and went to 45.5. At 2:30, the wind changed to the WNW and the temp dropped, the rain came at 3. I just looked out my window and my yard is white again. Conditions were very good in terms of current & clarity, but the fish were not all that cooperative. There is good flow coming over the dam, but The Bay itself must be low?? The ordinary high water mark is at least 1' above the water level right now even with all of the water coming over the dam?? We boated 5 eyes up to 24", 2 large cats and a 18" smallie. We probably missed another 10. All on jigs and minnows, we got our fish drifting today. Most everyone was fishing the edge of the channel between the landing and the dam. It was very slow for us and most everyone else because we did not see very many hook sets or nets coming out. I talked to seven other boats and they all said the same. Of those seven, everyone had skunks or 1-2 fish.
