For all you guys out there jigging with fireline and tying on a flourocarbon leader, how do you attach the flourocarbon? Swivel or tie direct? If you tie direct, what knot do you use?

Thanks, esoxneyes

I use just a swivel. Works for me for several years. Skeeter

I also use a ball bearing swivel. Seems like the swivel helps to pick up weeds and other debris before it hits my jig or crankbait.

I use a Double Uni Knot. I do this becuase with the barrel, I tend to use about a 4-5 tippit and the barrel will catch the tip of th rod. The knot passes through. Need to lubricate well when tieing the knot as the super braid will burn the flourocarbon when slipping together.

Trolling, Good idea with the barrel, keep line from twisting and catch more weeds. Can run a shorter leaders on my trolling rods too.

OH! I believe on one of the fishing shows on Sunday, I forget which one now, In Fishermen I believe, they have the Knot Wars, they will be testign the Double Uni Knot this weekend against another knot to see which is better. Both are being tied from a braid to a carbon so it should be interesting. Maybe someone else knows what show those knot wars are on?
