Member Posts: 514 Location: Darboy USA | Fishing Fanatics have posted that between 6-7pm tonite Mark Martin is going to be announcing something HUGE regarding AIM. Anyone have any insights???? Could be great timing after seeing the low turnout at the FLW opener.

Member Posts: 3899 | Guess I'll have log in tonight. Missed the weigh in at the FLW Detroit. Went to the leaderboard, went to get a fresh cup of jo, and by the time I got back it was all done! Dean is in great shape to bring home a couple hundred.

Member Posts: 1656 | Why is it such a joke that the number of boats are low for the FLW in Detroit? No one was laughing last year at AIM with only 50-60 boat fields. I don't find anything funny about the state of the walleye tournament world these days. It's good to have competition and options.

Member Posts: 514 Location: Darboy USA | That's the point Jason, if the turnouts are this low and the payouts drop significantly, then what will we be left with next year?? Will FLW drop the tour and start up more lucrative league events?? I think we all would rather see 2 strong circuits with payouts that make it worth a tour angler's while to fish. Not sure that is the case for FLW this year if you aren't consistently in the top 5......

Location: Rhinelander | I think most folks will be surprised at the AIM participation this year. I sincerely hope the FLW can repair all that ails them and come back strong in the future.

I had heard that the payout in South Dakota was going to blow the roof off any other paybacks of any tournament, possibly paying down to 50th place, not sure if it is true or not, but that is the rumor I had heard

Member Posts: 514 Location: Darboy USA | Great news and congrats to AIM, J.J. Keller Fishing Team, and SD Tourism for taking a vested interest in a great fishing organization. It sounds like AIM is making great strides in 2010 over 2009 which is nice to see. Some really good things for South Dakotans this year too and happy to see Chad reaping some benefits for being a great all around person and fisherman.
