| I got home yesterday and installed the 19" tempest on the 150 opti. pretty easy but just doesn't look right. seems to me it should go on a little more. Space between prop and motor looks weird. yes I only have one thrust washer on there. Am I missing some sort of weed or exhaust ring? or am I seeing things. If anybody has a pic of a tempest on a merc that would help. thanks |

| Finally got out! prop was installed correctly, just a few things weren't lined up right. with the new 19" tempest the boat shot right right up on plane no problem! Top speed was a casual 48.7mph gps. not quite where I wanted but still a near 3mph increase (5500 rpms, 2 people, full tank, extra battery) best part was cruising at lower RPMS was a real increase in speed. this will all add up to better fuel economy. I'm done playing around for performance. boat ran great, we were on a big lake with a good breeze and the Tuffy just went through it smoothly. Of course when you stop to fish, the NY Tuffy is A+! ended up catching about 25 brown carp and headed home for beer. A good day. The tourney season starts in 6 weeks, Can't wait! Thanks for the info! |
