Member Posts: 744 | Short version: Awesome, buy one, that's it. Long version: - Note that the V2 Powerdrive w/i-pilot does NOT come with a foot pedal (uses remote only). You need the Terrova to get the pedal also. Depending on how you will use it, this could be a big deal or not. You cannot vertical jig properly for instance, using two rods with no foot pedal. Using one rod, it was actually easier to use the remote than a foot pedal. - Overall very easy, simple to use. - Spot Lock (virtual anchor) is an incredible tool. I used it to hold us under the edge of a bridge in wind and current and it performed well. I also used it when we tried to vertical jig and hit a school of fish. It would be incredibly useful for jigging reefs, or working shorelines. This feature alone is worth the price of the unit in my opinion. - I did not have time to fully test the tracking feature. From what I did do, it would work awesome for any pulling upstream or trolling. There was not enough current to really give it a good test vertical jigging. Again, I doubt you would be able to use two rods effectively without the foot pedal. The track can be created with the bowmount stowed. The cruise control feature maintained speed accurately. Overall if you jig, fish rivers, cast cranks, pull rigs, troll, or God forbid cast shorelines for muskie or bass (does that cover everyone?) this unit will give you more time with your lures in the water, and less time dropping anchor, or trying to fish and manuver at the same time. - I have no affiliation with Minn-Kota, this is just my personal opinion.

Member Posts: 344 Location: Manitowoc WI | I will second that emotion. I havnt been able to get many hours on mine yet.. but the spot lock is amazing.. the two GPS auto-p's are amazing the speed display on the remote, is amazing. I will be testing the route tracer within the next few weeks.. But given what ive seen so far.. This motor is worth every penny.. I bought the 24v / 80lb with Ipilot pre installed. this 80lb also seems to have more, or better thrust then my old power drive 80lb. was testing auto-p agenst the current and getting 2.4mph.. which is unheard of with my old power drive..

Send me half the money the i-pilot costs and I will delete my post and hit you in the head with a brick erasing all memory of reading it, all the while saving you money. Seriously, it's the schizzle. And when you order it, tell them Dave sent you. They will have absolutely no idea what you are talking about, but if enough people do it, maybe I can get a free ballcap. Also worth noting, you can have extra remotes, so if you are in the back of the boat and your partner running the bowmount falls in, you have your own remote so you can keep fishing.

Member Posts: 200 Location: Lake City MN | I just installed one of these units on my Lund last week and really put it to the test on the river and Pepin the last three days and all I can say is that they are absolutely fantastic. I was able to try it under very different conditions all three days(wind, calm, light breeze, heavy current) and could not have been happier. I really ran all of the different features and can honestly say that they all worked beyond my expectations. I had a tough time shelling out over 1300 bucks for a trolling motor but after my testing I would have to say that these things are under priced, and believe me there is no other tool on my boat that I would say that about. In my mind these things are the biggest breakthrough in fishing since the boat. A must have.... Loren Waalkens Edited by Loren Waalkens 4/19/2010 11:09 PM

Member Posts: 213 Location: Forest Lake, MN | Went out on Devils Lake today with a friend who just got the IPilot and an HDS with the downscan. He wanted to practice with the new goodies. Really liked the IPilots anchor and the route run. He steered us through some trees and when he hit it to run back it did a great job of following the same exact route back. Then we were doing some casting along the old rail road grade, that's now under water. We were right along side the grade, with the wind blowing towards it, when he hooked what must have been a really big northern. All he had to do was hit the anchor function and the IPilot kept the boat right on the spot. The wind was light but the TM wasn't breaking a sweat so its more than likely enough for even a good wind. I see you can even set the speed to run with its GPS. Definite two thumbs up. WarrenMN
