Member Posts: 132 | With all this rain, rain, and more rain; the lake levels in Lake Michigan should be getting better? Just like Great America, more water means more fish! Larry Edited by LurePresentation 7/8/2010 7:09 AM

Member Posts: 1314 Location: Menasha, WI | The Great Lakes water levels increased for the month of June due to a large amount of precipitation, but each one remains below the levels of last year at this time. Over the next month, the water level of Lake Superior is expected to increase by 3 inches while Michigan-Huron is expected to stay near its current level. http://www.lre.usace.army.mil/greatlakes/hh/greatlakeswaterlevels/waterlevelforecasts/weeklygreatlakeswaterlevels/ http://www.lre.usace.army.mil/greatlakes/hh/datalinks/PrinterFriendly/DailyLevelsEnglish.pdf

Member Posts: 885 | Big Butte is up 14 inches in the last 3 weeks.... I had to trim my motor on the boat lift to keep it out of the water. Purple Skeeter

Member Posts: 1314 Location: Menasha, WI | They all the gates at Menasha about 10 days ago. Water levels are rising and the weeds are easier to fish (hint, hint, hint)

Member Posts: 885 | I 've been out on the lake almost every day for the past 3 months and I'm surprised at how little pressure this lake gets, If you are here on Saturday and Sunday, you get a few boats traveling from the river to Winneconnie, but even that does not amount to much. There is almost no fishing pressure on this lake... It's nowhere near as busy as Poygan. Purple Skeeter Edited by Purple Skeeter 7/8/2010 10:59 AM

Member Posts: 132 | Purple Skeeter, has panfishing been good in the last couple of days? Some friends of mine are looking for good bluegill and crappie action. Sorry everyone, I know this a walleye website, I apologize.

Member Posts: 885 | The bluegills are full of spawn... I've been catching 6-8 every night off the dock on Red Worms... no little ones in the last 2 weeks... all females. If I remember right from last year, this was about the time they started hitting very well. I fished for them through the summer into the fall. I'd tell you where to fish on the lake, but I never fished for them other than off my dock.... your welcome to tie up your boat and sit on the dock if you need a place to fish. Dominic

Member Posts: 1314 Location: Menasha, WI | Speaking of bluegills...tonight I was working a weedline that has been producing eyes over the last few weeks but this evening there were no eyes but gills, BIG GILLS! I had 3 that I seriously thought about mounting -- three 10"-11"+ gills all in one night is as many as I have caught that size my entire life. I don't have the spare change to mount them so they're still swimming. Man I love fishing Winnebago.
