Location: Rhinelander | They lost Yamaha, and picked up Mercury. Great for the FLW anglers running Merc, not so great for the FLW anglers running Yamaha. Merc will gain some transoms in the tournament arena for sure, and Yamaha will lose some. By the way, some folks are concerned the promotional dollars spent by Mercury on the FLW will negatively effect the dollars available for the Pro's contracts and deals. It will not.

Member Posts: 1406 | Pro-Eye so maybe Aim pursues Yamaha now? Whats your point? How does the FLW's marketing department get credit for an endemic sponsor deal? lawsuit with that E motor and loosing yamaha gave them no motor? I'll let you toot your horn when they sign a Pepsi or Budweiser .......so are there any pros that have a good deal on a Yamaha out there yet, if so get them on the board I might know someone looking for one!? Member Posts: 148 | Tyee, it's all about M&M Money and Marketing and the flw has it, as far as yamaha, i think they have something up their sleve, after all they are the largest marine companey out there. I would think we should hear somthing in the near future, also mecury knows there value, and believe me they do have M&M. Theres going to be some big changes, and it seem to benifit everyone, Lets waith and see.

Member Posts: 148 | i can blow my horn tyee, when you have walmart on your side, they can branch of to anything, (i belive walmart is none edinmic sponsor yea) there the largest buying retailer, when and if they want other endimic sponsors, walmart would tell them they would like them to jump on board, and i would bet you they would, they won't want to loose there account, this practice goes on everyday in bussiness. I should start a new thread Bussiness 101 all about M & M, but i only type with 2 fingers it would take to long Sorry

Location: Rhinelander | Tyee, It's looking like it will be the National Guard FLW Walleye Tour (or something like that) in 2011. Yamaha out. They have steamed in/eased out of Walleye sponsorship many times since the beginning of competitive walleye angling. Mercury back in. Win win for the guys with black on back and an opportunity to kick Yamaha back within the boundaries they'd like to see observed in the Midwest and on the back of the competitive Bass rigs nationally. FLW has a progressive Bass program allowing them to 'piggy back' the Walleye program, which is a distinct advantage over all other players. If FLW was only Walleye, the landscape would be very very different.

Member Posts: 148 | why is everyone hung up on Irwin? your missing the whole sceem here, they have a plann in place and i see what it is , there will be a couple of key factors to be annonced yet , this will boost the walleye and bass tournaments. i don't think they will be on the level ? but it's a start, next year , there will have to be a lot of support , if we don't and loose the major tournament secene, major walleye tourneys will be history.

Member Posts: 859 Location: Appleton wi | Pro eye, dont take it personal. This site is slowly becoming anti flw . Often you see comments being left on here that critize the flw but when some makes a comment towrd individuals that dont log in and critize flw my post gets dusted. Its pretty much why you only have a couple handfull of the same poeple posted on here anymore.

Member Posts: 1406 | Steve, I wholeheartedly agree. Their Walleye program is nothing more than extra federation/bass moeny being spent on fish with teeth. There are a number of tourney directors that visit this site and they all know how much money they make off of competitive fishing. Merc is a great addition to their line up and the 50 million dollars the state gave them to stay in Fond Du Lac has to be a part of that. So am I, a taxpayer, a non endemic sponsor. You bet your arse! maybe proeye is right! Good Luck Tyee

Why would that be? http://walleye.outdoorsfirst.com/tournaments/ No, that's because it's been posted in the NEWS section moments after we received the schedule on September 21. Every FLW press release is posted minutes after we get it, every release FLW has put out is here! 2011 FLW schedule http://walleye.outdoorsfirst.com/articles/09.21.2010/3369/FLW.Walle... Every FLW release can be found here: http://walleye.outdoorsfirst.com/walleyearticles.asp The tournament link will be updated just like it is every year before the season begins.

The aim and mwc 2010, that's 2010 NOT 2011, are listed there but the flw never was. The aim and mwc 2010 schedules were listed on that page since last winter. The flw was left out. Say what you want but that is fact. The flw schedule was out before the aim schedule last year, so why was aim added and not the flw? Favoritism or neglect? I wasn't talking about the links you listed I was talking about this page http://walleye.outdoorsfirst.com/tournaments/

Location: Rhinelander | We posted the 2010 FLW schedule on October 27, 2009.. http://walleye.outdoorsfirst.com/articles/10.27.2009/2650/FLW.Outdo... Most of the 2010 MWC events are not listed under that link either. We update the coverage links ( that's what those are, by the way) after we have the data completed, and need to get back in there and finish up 2010, the coverage links there can't exist until the coverage is completed. We determined we would not cover all the FLW events in the field this year because 4 events conflicted directly with others our crews were contracted to attend, and the overall reduction in emphasis on the Tour by FLW Outdoors was clear. We decided to cover the FLW remotely for the summer, concentrate on the Championship and advancements sure to come for FLW in 2011, and spread our 2010 crew out between Walleye, Muskie, Whitetails, and Ice coverage and content creation. Obviously, since we jointly execute all the data entry at the AIM events through our database, it's automatically updated. We don't have a leaderboard for the FLW anymore, because we no longer have the Toyota Trucks Walleye Angler Rewards program, so it's not auto-updated. We default to the FLW leaderboard during every event now, because we are focused on daily interviews, videos of the big fish and stage action, imagery, and more during coverage. We publish articles, press releases, videos, and interviews during and after the events with FLW Pros and offer in depth OFM Radio, JK Walleye Articles, and Ron Lindner/Jim Kalkofen WalleyeFIRST radio shows featuring FLW Pros. Watch for a new Ron Lindner/JK program featuring Brian Brosdahl soon. Anti-FLW? That's not true, even in the slightest. We broke this story about Merc and FLW joining forces. We had it published within a minute and a half of receiving the release from the FLW. We followed up with this: "Join us as we talk with the Communications Director of Mercury Marine, Steve Fleming regarding the new relationship between Mercury Marine and FLW Outdoors." http://upload.outdoorsfirst.com/watch.asp?id=3024 We have published over ONE HUNDRED FLW 2010 press releases and articles, over 35 FLW videos, and many, many FLW related media items since the first of this year, and ALL of them are still available to view if you care to take the time. We strongly support the FLW, AIM, the MWC, and the entire sport of competitive angling and will continue into the future. As I am sure proeye knows, not 'everyone' is hung up on Irwin. I believe that was a comment by Tyee and no one else. Everything else said by anyone from OFM has been very positive about the Mercury/FLW partnership and the FLW in general. So, 'guest' and eye Lunker, what say you now?

Member Posts: 859 Location: Appleton wi | Steve and TJ , I am refering to the poeple who have issues with flw and they post on here and the negative or unproven statement is left on here. I apologies I was not refering to walleye first as becoming anti flw but rather as stated above on guest /secret names posting on here. The articles and news flashes on walley tourny's are often reported here first and are true and concise so my aplologies for not making my statement clear.

Location: Rhinelander | Being critical is OK and even encouraged if it's not a personal attack or bash on a company or product. Sometimes a bad one slips by us for awhile, and we apologize for any that have.

Member Posts: 1406 | Hung up on Irwin? Seriously....If you think I am hung up on Irwin because he has become the richest man taking money from tourney anglers and benefiting through his sponsor Walmart then I guess your right! I have every right to post those opinions and Steve has every right to leave it or delete it..this is his sandbox...I think they do a great job covering all competitive events by the way! Good Luck Tyee
