Location: Charlotte, MI | I'm not sure if this is the right place but I was wondering what size drift socks I should use for my 14'. I have a side console 14' deep-v with a 30hp. I'll mostly be fishing smaller inland lakes and rivers but will occasionally be on Saginaw Bay. Most of what I read says that 2 socks is usually needed(2 off the back or 2 off the side). I already have an 18" and 24", are these enough? |

| Yes Marbleyeguy your current socks should do just fine for your boat. |

| For smaller waters, the socks you have should get you by, but for bigger waters, a 40 or 50 inch sock would be a better way to go, especially because you would only have to deploy/retrieve the one bigger sock from the middle of the boat in most situations. I use the Wave Tamers with a harness buoy - fastest sock set-up out there! |

| Another awesome device when using a drift sock in big wave is Dock n Stay be Rich Stadler http://www.drop-n-stay.com/docknstay.asp it takes all the jolt or jerking out of the sock when your boat surges up and down, and also when your boat surges back and forth the drift sock bellows in and out it doesnt any more it stays perfectly deployed. Try one you will be amazed at the difference |
