As soon as I take my foot off the pedal on my motorguide trolling motor it immediately torques to a different direction. Is there a way to tighten this up?

I believe there is a tension screw on the bottom of the foot pedal on the cable assembly.

I screwed that down and it did not seem to make a difference. I think I will try to get something else in there to increase the friction.

I ended up calling motorguide customer service. I was glad to learn I was not just being dumb. It is a design flaw on this particular freshwater series where you cannot adjust the pedal tension. They sent me pdf where you put some nylon washers at one spot and a new bolt and washers in another as a fix. I was ready to throw it out and buy a new one, hope this works.

Good to hear you figured it out (now you can take me fishing this weekend) I'll give you a buzz at the office tomorrow.
