The teams POUNDED 'em. Report and video in the next hour and a half. Conditions were worse than tough, but the bite was excellent. Wait until you see the video from the docks...crazy stuff.

REPORT: PRE WEIGH IN.

The winds were really tough today on the Wolf driving snow, rain, and sleet at up to 30 MPH sideways along the surface of an over-flood-stage Wolf River.

75 teams hit the water none the less, and the bite from early weigh in indications, was very good Several weights over 16# for five have been turned in already. First flight was due in by 1:30 PM.

The dock, which is usually a couple feet above the water even when the river is high, was totally under water, so one team member had to literally 'wade' across the dock to the shore. Brutal.

Watch for more soon...

It took a five fish limit over 14# to take a top ten, and 17.16 to win, EXCELLENT weights under worse than bad conditions. The winning team was using jigs and minnows eitting stationary and letting the migrating fish move through. The second place team and first place team were fishing similar patterns and reportedly were in sight of each other most of the day.

Many of the fish were released, yes. They couldn't just dump them at the dock, though...look at the rules if you would like to see how this was handled.

We went to the weigh-in yesterday and the number of fish and limits were outstanding. For all these teams to fish through that crappy weather they all get a big atta boy button. Truly a tough day.

A special hats off to Denny Fox and Chris Gasser for their outstanding work on the dock. They stood there in water halfway to their knees and assisted the competitors with their boats and getting their fish to the scales. Long day for those two troopers and they came through it with smiles on their faces. TOP NOTCH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Good job by all. Sorry we didn't stay longer. Between Tina's back and my surgery on my jaw we couldn't stand much more. Glad to see you Steve W and of course Denny and the Fort Fremont gang did a great job. Bratts tasted good of course. Thanks Tuffy boats.

I would like to thanks everyone who makes this event possible every year. I will start with the sheboygan walleye club. These are some very dedicated guys and better yet gals who help with the days events. Finding good hands is hard, these guys are the best. Tuffy Boats for giving the event the spice of brats. This year we were recognized by Mercury Marine as a Gold team sponsored event. This allowed us to plan for future events with more availble dollars to spoil the fisherman. Fort Fremont for allowing me the time to organize such a event. Walleye first, thanks for the coverage, thanks for recognizing us as a annual event worth covering. All the fisherman and sponsors appreciate the effort.

To the fisherman, THANK YOU! With out you there would not be an event.

Plans are starting for next year. The date will be announced very soon.

Have a great year of fishing!!

Denny

I would like to thank Denny for running a great event despite the wind, rain, snow, cold, and high water at the docks! Despite all of these brutal conditions the tournament went on and some nice fish were brought in! I would also like to thank Tuffy Boats for supplying the brats which hit the spot after 7 hours in the elements!

I must say that I am a bit surprised at AIM's decision to cancel the entire first day of the event! In my mind a short delay to get the docks and launch areas snow free would've been the right move. Snow is part of spring fishing here in Wisconsin, whether we like it or not! I am done ranting, now get out there and catch some fish!
