1999 Ranger 620 VS, 2003 225HP Optimax. I have what appears to be an extra fuel filter located in the compartment holding the 2 stroke oil container. Looks like a large black hose going in and 2 grey hoses going out. The Merc mechanics on BBC say to remove it because Mercury Optimax doesn't reccomend additional filters due to delivery problems. I doubt that this filter has ever been changed because I didn't know it was there. They also say to change out my fuel lines due to the ethanol gas. Anyone have this extra filter? Thanks, Terry

Could be a water separator, or a fuel filter added so there is a line to the kicker. Some giys don't/won't use a T to the kicker, so they added a fuel filter which has extra ports.
