Location: Rhinelander | 88 MWS teams took to the Upper Lakes of the Winnebago system under sunny skies and building winds this morning. Temps were in the 40's this morning pre-dawn forecast for low 50's for the high this afternoon.
The bite has been scattered, with reports of very good to very tough from the teams this morning. Predictions from the anglers for the winning weights range from 10# to 23, so the weigh in total average is completely unpredictable.
Planned techniques vary from the Winneconne standard vertical jigging techniques to pulling cranks shallow in the upper lakes.
The anglers left in three flights, and will begin weighing in at 2:30 this afternoon right next to the bridge in Winneconne.
Winds are the big story for the rest of today, forecast to be 25 to 35 from the southwest, gusting to 40.
