Anyone have any experience with the 31 series batteries from here? Talked to the sales guy today and they have their 31's for $100 each with a 12 month full and 24 month pro rated warranty. They also have AGM's in the 31 series, but pricey at $319 each.

Wondering if I can get 2-3 years out of them in my terrova or if there are better options? I seem to be burning through my 27 series Interstates fairly quickly since I use the bowmount for all my trolling.

Thanks for any positive or negative feedback. Come on Bago mud bite!!

Try the WalMart 29 Series. About $85 each, same warranty as Interstate.

You know what, I am with Martyb on this.. every other season i pick up 2 everstart marine group 29's from walmart.
the bill comes to about 130$ for both. Absolutely no difference in run time vs other group 29's. The only difference is, i get new batteries every 2 years for the price u pay for 1 top brand name one.

Just my 2 cents

Concurr with above, Walmart for me too, going on 4th season on mine, got 1 season out of those junk green caps (interstate junk) and what a friggin run around to get them replaced. Put a new set in this year because I am selling the boat this September and wanted the new owner to have a fresh set.

Thanks for the replies. I'll take a look at those and maybe go that route if I can save a few $$ and get about the same amount of time out of them.

Mr. Darboy. I would first take a look at your charging drill. I removed my on board charger from my boat. my opinion, junk. don't care what brand. nothing better than putting a charger on your battery with a meter. my thought is alot of onboard chargers turn off too quick. example: I have a big 31 cranking battery. put a minn kota auto charger on it. said complete in about 2 hours. then put my schumacher charger on it. got up about 75% then ran for another 3 hours till 100%. no more auto chargers for me.
I also now have an easy to unhook jumper wire. charger should not be hooked with a jumper in place. Don't care what manuals say.
yes on board charges are easy. but with a few extra minutes in the yard, I know my batteries are charged! fished alot of 3 day weekends with out charging. got a holiday coming up too. 3rd year on my delco voyagers. strong as ever.

Sorry to hijack this battery thread but had to speak up. a few of us here in NY are going this manual charger route. think batteries take the heat for bad charging practice.

If your electric trolling, you may want to add another battery to the system.

sorry again.
