Not familiar with the i-pilot yet. Is there a fuse for just the i-Pilot?

Which fuse holder is melting? Are you blowing the fuse? How is the fuse attached to the power source/i-Pilot?
What size wire are you using? Melting indicates that the device is drawing more current than the wire/connection can handle.

its the fuses in the battery compartment, inline fuses, it seems the fuse holder can't carry the current, i did some googling and asking around and i am going to try circuit breakers. they were 30 amp fuses. i think maybe the fuse holder is just to small. going to try the 30 amp circuit breakers and test them out ,next time i go out.

I think minn-kota recommends 60 amp circuit breakers.
I would call them first, dont take my word for it..

but 30amp vs 60amp is very significant.

Also what gauge wire are you using and how long is it?
