I have a merc 200 efi max rpm rating of 5700.Iam mounted in the second hole from the top.I currently am running the stock 21 pitch aluminum prop.I currently run 5600 two people loaded at only 48 mph.I dont know if I can spin the 21 tempest fast enough or do I have to go with the 19 tempest.Anyone running a rig like mine what are you using. Thanks a bunch!

I called Lund when I set up mine and they recommended a Merc Laser II 21 pitch. It works great on mine. That boat should hit 58-60mph.

I have the same rig you have and you will not see anymore than 52-53. It will spin a 21 tempest just fine. I ended up settling on a 21 pitch Rev-4 and love it. My top speed is only 51.

Not sure where you are located but I have a 21 tempest you can try. You should not have any problem turning that prop with the efi.

In my experience, almost all the Lund ProV's until they boosted the HP on the 1900 from 200 HP to 225 HP, topped out at about 52 when maxed out on HP. 2025, 1900, 1800, 1775, my 1700 Angler SS w/135 Opti.

I can't remember exactly what Sunshine had on his 1900 w/200 EFI, but 21 Tempest rings a bell. Pretty sure the same for the 1900 w/225.

My 1700 Angler SS has a 23 Laser II. Nice prop for hole shot and top end when lightly loaded. Get 2 guys in it, and the bow lost lift, and speed went down about 8 MPH.

I'd try that 21 Tempest, small or medium plugs. I think the EFI has the low end torque to get by with the small plugs.

You can run either the 21 Tempest or the 21 Laser 11. They will both work fine. The Tempest will perfom a little bit when you are turning corners at wide open throttle. The large diameter Tempest seems to not cavitate as much as a laser 11 would. I have set many boats up using both props and had good results. It would be best to try one out first before you by and form yorm own opinion. I would test the props with the customer at the lake with me. I ran a 1900 with a hpdi 200 with a 21 pro series and on a good day it would hit 54 mph, on the average 52 MPH. Occassionly I would hit 58-60 mph after a few "Morgan Cokes". haha
