| Jim Zimmerman just caught the NEWEST Illinois State record walleye just after the "other" state record was recorded into the books this same year. The record that has stood for half a century was defeated by a 15 year old a month ago with a 14lb+ fish, and now Jim Zimmerman, a Wisconsin resident, has boated a 15.08lb walleye on the Pecatomica River just 20 miles south of the Wisconsin border in Illinois. Do a quick search on it for a better story than I can recite, but pictures are hard to find so here's a glance at a true Illinois giant.

I'm not surprised.
Just surprised it doesn't happen more often in other states.
