I am looking at the Ranger Reata 1850 and the Lund Tyee 186 GL. I mostly fish Green Bay some Lake Michigan and small lakes with the kids. I was wondering if anyone has feedback on either boat. Is a 150 motor big enough for each? Can I launch these boats in shallow water that I encounter on most inland lakes?

I have sold both.
These are both good "Fish/Play" models. A 150 does a good job on them... although they are both rated for 175 now.

They'll be a bit tougher launching on very flat ramps...,being they sit on bunk trailers.

You might also consider the Lund 186 ProV (was 186GL Fisherman...now renamed).
I like it best, myself ...more of an uncompromised fishing type layout.
The 186 Lund GLs are a bit taller than the Reatas.

Hopefully you can run both before you decide...?

Best thing to do is to test drive both, put them thru their paces, very speeds. There wont be allot of difference in speed I suspect between the 175 and 150 and that my depend on which model Pro XS 175 vs Standard Opti 150 probably a noticeable diff. It appears that the Lund is a little deeper so it may handle big waves better. I run a 19' Tuffy and it handled GB just fine.

Those are both good boats. But make sure you look at the skeeter 1825 or 1850 Love the layout of the Skeeters.
